As a regular at Ange Postecoglou’s media conferences Kheredine Idessane of BBC Scotland knows how the Celtic boss operates, how sharp he is especially in replying to hesitant questions.
In contrast to previous Celtic regimes the current manager is on the front foot, a man with a plan as he has demonstrated in the two January windows that he has overseen.
The window may be labelled January but Postecoglou likes to front loan, get his signings in before the turn of the year rather than hold back for 30 days to see who might be swilling around, unwanted elsewhere.
So far this season Yosuke Ideguchi hasn’t made it onto the park, with six midfielders in contention for three places the one-time Leeds player rarely gets near the bench.
Since November 9 away to Motherwell as a late substitute Oliver Abildgaard hasn’t kicked a ball for the club, it is fair to say that the expectations of his loan deal hasn’t been met.
At today’s media conference it was time for Idessane to ask the glaringly obvious question- and get the full Ange treatment in reply!

AP: The guys who haven’t played a lot of football are looking for opportunities elsewhere, if those opportunities exist, like I said if it satisfies all parties we’ll look to make it happen.
KI: Hi Ange, just specifically on those, is it right that Abildgaard and Ideguchi are two that might be exploring those options? You wouldn’t be surprised if either or both of those two moved today, is that fair?
AP: Well they fit the definition of what I just said, yeah. I don’t think, you’re not really on Mastermind at the moment where you’ve figured out from some drips I’ve given you. I said guys that haven’t played regularly, they definitely fit that bill. Like I said, for us that is kind of where we are at with the squad right now. Anyone who has played football and been a meaningful contributor won’t be leaving in this window. It is potentially, the ones that will leave.
