Kris Boyd’s round-the-houses explanation for Ange’s exit!

Kris Boyd wants Ange Postecoglou to leave Celtic because he deserves it!

Apparently the former Kilmarnock striker would like to see the Australian rewarded for the unbelievable job that he has done transforming Celtic’s fortunes.

Boyd has appeared very uncomfortable and reluctant to praise Postecoglou as he has watched Celtic turn a 25 point deficit around into one title win another looking very likely with a nine point lead with 13 matches left to be played.

Over the last 10 days there has been speculation that Leeds United could be interested in taking the Celtic boss to the EPL but there has been no hints of unrest from the former Yokohama F Marinos boss.

Picking up on an interview with Sky Sports, The Sun reports Boyd saying:

His time will come where he does move away from Celtic, and you are glad to see our top managers linked with moves. It shows that our league is in a healthy position and I’m sure Ange Postecoglou will move on one day.

I don’t think it would be to Leeds or any time soon. There is no doubt the job he has done at Celtic is unbelievable; to do the job he has done and win the league.

With the job he has done this season you would expect him to retain it, which I always think is the most difficult job. There is no doubt Ange Postecoglou will move on to probably a bigger and more competitive league.

In terms of the job Ange Postecoglou he deserves it. When he does go I think it will be for the best of Scottish football, because he will have done a fantastic job.

It seems bizarre that the pundit that is most associated with Sky’s coverage of Scottish football is wishing the best manager in the country moves on.

Postecoglou joined Celtic on a 12 month rolling contract in June 2021 with no report that there has been any alternation to that deal.
