Fortunately for Mikael Lustig on one occasion Scott Brown’s first impression wasn’t a lasting one.

Back in the early days of 2012 Celtic signed another right-back, adding to a squad that included Mark Wilson, Cha Du-Ri and Adam Matthews.

On 3 March 2012, away to Aberdeen, Neil Lennon gave debuts to two full-backs, Andre Blackman scored an own goal with the other guy not faring much better on the right.

While one career drove off into obscurity and controversy the other became a cult figure at Celtic, starring in the most successful run of success in the Scottish game, signing off with an assist as the Treble Treble was clinched at Hampden.

Brown and Lustig have both moved on but their Celtic bond survives even if the club captain told the Daily Record that he had a few reservations when the new defender walked into the club.

The first time I laid eyes on him I was thinking: ‘Who’s this guy?’. Tattoos everywhere, his hair’s long and frizzy, he’s built like the side of a rake.

But you couldn’t have met a nicer man or a better character in that dressing room. He’s a fantastic footballer as well, merging into so many different positions.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are aiming to match the standards set by Brown and Lustig with a treble possible this season.
