Keith Jackson fears that Micky Beale is simply holding together a house of cards after 100 days managing the Ibrox Tribute Act.

All seemed happy and glorious until Gary McAllister’s former assistant named his side to face Celtic in the final of the Viaplay Cup at Hampden.

After two months of hype Nicolas Raskin and Todd Cantwell sat on the bench watching John Lundstram and Glen Kamara getting the runaround by the Celtic midfield.

At a crucial moment Beale’s bottle crashed. He didn’t trust the two starters that he signed in January- Celtic lifted another trophy with angry bears unleashing a fearsome backlash.

Beale has been slaughtered on social media, banners appeared at Ibrox wanting Stewart Robertson and Ross Wilson removed from their jobs with the once cocky Beale now a snivelling wreck as he explains to angry bears that Celtic will dominate since they have a bigger budget.

Chairman Douglas Park never says a word in public, Dave King has an army of messengers ready to push his case with Beale having to front it all with six first team players about to walk away in the summer.

The Daily Record has been cheering on almost every fing that Beale has had to say but in a rare brush with reality Jackson admits that the garden is far from rosy with a trip to Celtic Park just a month away.

Discussing the task facing Beale the star man at the Record admits:

It does all feel like he is attempting to hold more than just a team together while he attends to the front of house as infighting rages on behind him. He’s having to keep a full-scale revolt from the door. Good luck with that if he dares to drop anything at Easter Road tonight.

It’s certainly a steep learning curve for a man with so little in the way of managerial experience to fall back on, having taken on this unruly behemoth on the back of just 22 games in charge at QPR.

And the elephant in the Ibrox bootroom comes in the shape of a Celtic side hitting historic heights of consistency. In this particular pressure pot, it doesn’t matter that Beale has taken 34 points from a possible 36 when Celtic remain nine clear at the top with a goal difference growing by the week.

That’s not just grossly unfair on the newcomer – it’s entirely unreasonable – but it’s also the awkward reality of the matter where this warped sense of rivalry and one upmanship is concerned.

Beale can’t afford to feel sorry for himself as he was aware of the rules of engagement when he first started jostling for position for the job at a time when the previous manager was being overwhelmed by the same relentless, suffocating demands.

But neither can he be blamed for the miscalculations of the men above him who continue to make the job of reeling in Ange Postecoglou – or just clinging on to his coat-tails – even more of a stretch than it already was.

Perhaps now his feet are more firmly under the desk after the first 100 days, Beale may even privately agree with the sentiment behind the latest banner. It does indeed feel like time for change.

But he can’t be expected to fix all that’s wrong off the pitch while attempting to keep pace with Celtic on it. They don’t call it a great depression for nothing.

By tea-time on Saturday Celtic could have taken a significant step towards winning another treble which isn’t the sort of news that Record readers want to contemplate less than a fortnight after being fed the line that The Other Mob were about to be put in their place.

The truth is that Beale is only able to hang on to Celtic’s coat tails due to the weekly cheating that allows his shite team to do so.

Were it not for this, Hearts would be in second place, and it is astonishing that they particularly are not calling this out.

Apart from the huns themselves, Cui Bono from this cheating?

  • Scud Missile says:

Oh dear the BOOZE JOCKEY Jackass Jackson calling out sevco sounds like some serious shite coming down the pipe.
But not to worry as The 4 FANNYS Had Nightmare podcast are creaming their Carter-Vickers about (GLOSSY)their word they have used to describe the players coming to the new klub in the summer, while at the same time them being a media partner of the new klub are LICKING the ARSE of the board and especially auld Duggie 5 chins himself getting special praise from the 4 FUDS.

  • Dinger says:

Without the help of referees and var they would be lucky to be sitting in 5th place in the league

Is something seriously afoot about to happen at the daily Record that it does not care about the consequences of criticising its pet project ?

I mean ,daily sales are falling off a cliff at a bad rate of knots ,it’s reputation for fairness has long been diminished ,there is no originality from the sports scoops whatsoever and has become a figure of fun for it’s lack of quality in the reporting department !

It already relies on English daily Mirror scoop stories daily as most of its own reporters are no longer required …. I hope Jackson takes his empty bottles to the recycling bin soon ! Scotland’s Champion …
