Less than a month after getting over-excited about a move to Leeds United the Daily Record has revived their Ange Postecoglou EPL template.

Brighton and Everton were used earlier in the season but even with Antonio Conte still in a job the sports team at the Record are reviving their Ange Exit dreams.

At some stage the Australian will leave Celtic but following the Viaplay Cup win at Hampden Postecoglou made it very clear that he was perfectly happy in his current job which offered a challenge that matched his ambitions.

Regardless of that the Record charges in with:

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou will reportedly turn down any potential interest from Tottenham if a mid-season Parkhead exit is put on the table.

Antonio Conte is under mounting pressure at Spurs after the Premier League side crashed out of the last 16 of the Champions League with a whimper as they failed to break down the resolute Italian side in London.

Despite sitting in the top four of the table and being on course to secure a spot among Europe’s elite for next term, with no shot at silverware chairman Daniel Levy is reportedly considering sacking Conte before the end of the season with his current contract set to expire in the summer.

Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino and ex-Chelsea gaffer Thomas Tuchel are among the frontrunners, with reports south of the border suggesting Celtic’s Postecoglou is being considered as a plan B. Levy is reportedly an admirer of the Parkhead boss and has included the boss on a 5 man shortlist of alternative candidates.

However, Levy has yet to decide if Conte will see out the final 12 games of the season, with The Telegraph reporting that Postecoglou is unlikely to walk away from Celtic Park during the campaign. However, it is noted that the former Chelsea and Inter boss could see out the campaign while Levy assess the situation.

Tagged on towards the end of a lengthy discussion about Conte’s inevitable departure from Spurs The Telegraph reports:

Levy will consider a list of alternative potential targets that will include Enrique, who was sacked by Spain after the World Cup, Celtic manager Postecoglou, Brighton’s De Zerbi and Napoli boss Spalletti, and take suggestions from Paratici.

But the role of Paratici, who is already waiting to find out whether or not a ban in Italy will be extended across the world, could be further complicated by an Italian court case that is scheduled for March 27.

Paratici was handed a 30-month ban from Italian football as part of the sanctions imposed on his ex-club Juventus by the Italian Football Federation, which could still be applied across the globe.

Spurs Director of Football Fabio Paratici could be facing a criminal trial in Italy relating to his time in that role at Juventus.
