The Ibrox PR machine seems to be in as much of a state as Micky Beale’s central defence.

A pressing need to put out feel-good stories to help the Season Ticket Renewal campaign has to be measured against not going OTT ahead of another match against The Other Mob.

Earlier this week Sky Sports were given an interview with Nico Raskin, when he came up with some comments about how close to Celtic his team is the broadcaster tweeted away- for 30 minutes.

During that time the Daily Record and Glasgow Times picked up on the comments and shared, the interview on the Sky website was watered down to how much Raskin loves life in Glasgow and the thrill of going for a coffee with Alex Lowry.

Yesterday Borna Barisic gave a routinely dull range of answers to the broadcast media.

Once he got to speak to the Daily papers he was hinting at what he would do if anyone said bad words to him in the street.

The loyal Record are still reporting:

But Barisic accepts any more pre-match chatter ahead of tomorrow’s Scottish Cup semi-final with their bitter rivals only runs the risk of making them look silly should Michael Beale’s team again fail to deliver at Hampden. “Someone was saying bad things at me and I don’t like that,” said the left back as he recalled the viral incident in the wake of this month’s 3-2 loss at Celtic Park.

I reacted but on the streets I may have reacted even more. But we are not on the streets and I represent this club.”

It seems that Ibrox players and coaches are struggling to keep a lid on emotions as they constantly to discuss matters off the pitch.

  • John Copeland says:

First we have Barisic the street fighter hinting at violence , then today we have ex the Rangers assassin,Kevin Thomson demanding that the Rangers players ‘rough up ‘ Celtic in tomorrow’s semi final ! In other words those two thugs represent the accepted nature of the beast ,here in wee Bonnie Scotland land with the SMSM purring over the disgraceful comments ! So it’s a ,if you can’t win fairly on the football pitch …then cause physical harm !

The one certainty this gutless rag cannot delete is the front page headline that 140 years of of history ended. We will never ever let them forget that fact.
