The Daily Record has great news for their elderly readers with the value of Malik Tillman TRIPPLING in the build up to Saturday’s match against Celtic.
With little positive news in the real world the Glasgow publisher has turned to the Transfermarkt website for some cheering news. According to some website geek the Bayern Munich star’s value has rocketed from €1.5m to€4.5m in the course of this season putting him on a par with Ridvan Yilmaz.
While their stats and contract details are very accurate the team at Transfermarkt are as creative as Dave King when it comes to player valuations, in December 2020 the South African based ‘businessman’ valued the Ibrox squad at £200m.
This summer Micky Beale will be met with reality as he tries to find funds to challenge Celtic while half a dozen stars walk away on Bosman deals.
Undeterred by the nightmare that is two months away the Record reveals:
Malik Tillman’s value has TRIPLED since joining Rangers in the summer – with popular transfer site Transfermarkt now pricing him higher than ever before.
The USA international has settled in well to life in Glasgow with his first sustained crack at first-team football going to plan, particularly since Michael Beale’s arrival.
He has 12 goals – eight of which have come under the Englishman – and five assists in all competitions and looks good value for the £5m fee Rangers have agreed on with Bayern to sign him permanently.
When he first arrived at Ibrox, Transfermarkt rated him at around €1.5m (£1.3m), understandably low considering he had only ever started one first-team game for Bayern.
But as he racks up the senior minutes in what is proving to be an impressive breakout season, they now value him at €4.5m (£3.9m) – a figure that is only likely to increase if his form keeps up between now and the summer.
For reasons unclear transfer guru Ross Wilson has been in talks with Bayern over the fixed fee agreement that they have on Tillman.
Ultimately any deal will be down to the player and whether he wants his career to stall at Ibrox or if he wants to go out on loan to another club with a year at Ibrox failing to advance his prospects of a first team place with Bayern Munich.

Doesn’t matter if Tillman is ‘valued’ by a third party at £100M:
there is zero impact on the Balance Sheet,
and there is zero impact on sevco’s ability to comply with UEFA’s Financial Sustainability Regulations: sevco remain on their Watchlist.
Desperate times call for desperate measures at Ibrox:
talking up a bang average player in Tillman is all they’ve got in the run up to the derby game.
Surely if Tillman’s value has gone up it will absolutely put him out of Sevco’s budget? You’d think they wouldn’t draw attention to these kinds of things…well they might if it wasn’t a transfermarkt valuation which are all 100% bollocks. I swear the fuds that run that site are thick enough to be huns…
Ah, so a player that the tribute act is trying to purchase (I know) has his value triple and that’s a good thing?
