A day after their feeble surrender to Aberdeen the Ibrox Tribute Act have turned to a statement to deflect attention away from the failings of Micky Beale and his squad.

It seems that some chants heard inside Pittodrie and a stone thrown outside the stadium has shocked and disgusted the PR Department at Ibrox.

Thankfully there was no glass mysteriously discovered in Allan McGregor’s penalty box for the start of the second half with no members of Beale’s backroom staff permanently disfigured by a glass bottle thrown from a corporate client.

Rather than put their disgust on a club statement, Chris Jack of the Glasgow Times was selected as the loyal messenger for a club spokesperson:

Rangers are liaising with both Police Scotland and Aberdeen FC following a number of incidents both during and after yesterday’s match at Pittodrie.

The club can confirm a Rangers supporter was injured after missiles were thrown at Rangers supporters’ buses as they departed in convoy from the stadium last night.

The club is also disgusted by chanting from the Aberdeen sections of the stadium which mocked the Ibrox Disaster, the deaths of club legends, and the desire for a member of the current first-team squad to die.

In 2019 parts of Ibrox were twice closed by UEFA due to racist chanting, over 150 years neither the SFA, SPFL, SPL or Scottish League have ever punished either of the clubs from Ibrox for the racism of their supporters.

The SPFL has still to announce their post-split fixtures with the Ibrox club due to face a top six club for a third time away from home.
