Ange Postecoglo won’t rush to seize the moment if he is offered the chance to manage Spurs.

With the London club now into their third month looking for a manager it seems fair to assume that something about the club is putting bosses off what should be a prime job.

Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte have been among the honours throughout their careers but came up with blanks working under Daniel Levy.

With a frenzy of speculation building up overnight since Arne Slot signed a new deal at Feyenoord Postecoglou could easily have ducked out of Friday’s media activities.

Instead he spoke one-to-one with Gordon Duncan of Sky Sports followed by a conference with broadcasters followed by the daily papers.

Covering his session with the daily papers, The Sun reports:

Postecoglou would have a big decision to wrestle with should Spurs make an official approach.

But the Aussie hinted that he won’t just jump at any offer from the Premier League.

Asked if you sometimes have to ‘seize the moment’ as a manager, he added: “I think I’ve done that in my career.

It’s about how you feel and when you get to the end of the year how you feel about the next challenge.

That doesn’t mean you do it because it is there. There has to be reasons for it to happen.”

Postecoglou remains on the same 12-month rolling contract that he signed in June 2021 when he left Yokohama F Marinos to move to Celtic.

Yes, Ange clearly requires reasons for things to happen in his career. He takes a measured approach to his football management and that has made him a winner!
He is motivated by success and he knows how to get it. Clearly he is not going to sacrifice the success he may have in the future with a silly move e.g. to Spurs at the moment!
He is too concentrated on his current job to be wasting time thinking about a job at Spurs, which clearly only exists in a parallel universe!
So, let the press-boys think about that if they want to. That is up to them!
Meanwhile Ange goes about bringing more success to the job he is in.
That is one reason why he is a winner!
