Antonio Colak will be part of Micky Beale’s summer clear out- if the Ibrox club can find someone prepared to match the striker’s current wages.

With two years to run on his contract Colak can sit tight until he gets a favourable off while Beale tries to find the funds for his Revolution.

After scoring twice for Malmo at Ibrox to end Steven Gerrard’s Champions League dream it was a typically lazy move from Ross Wilson to agree a £2m fee with Greek side PAOK last summer.

Colak justified his fee by scoring the only goal of the game away to PSV Eindhoven to bring Champions League football to Ibrox. Since then the club appears to have imploded with Giovanni van Bronckhorst sacked with virtually no contribution from the star summer signings.

When Alfredo Morelos replaces you in the team it is time to look at other options with The Sun reporting:

RANGERS will listen to summer offers for Antonio Colak after knocking back January interest.

SunSport believes German and MLS outfits made moves for the striker during the winter transfer window.

Those were snubbed as Gers boss Michael Beale chased three domestic trophies in the second half of the season. But after failing to land any silverware Gers are set for a massive clearout.

Croat Colak is their joint-top scorer, but has just three goals this year and last featured as a late sub in the 3-2 defeat at Celtic Park on April 8.

The 29-year-old arrived ten months ago in a near £2million transfer from Greeks PAOK and has two years left of his contract.

If Colak and Morelos leave Beale will go into Champions League qualifiers with a choice his striker options led by Kemar Roofe and Fashion Sakala.

Colak, who will be 30 in September has been transferred every year since 2014.

“The arrivals of Souttar, Tillman, Lawrence, Matondo and Colak really have sent shockwaves through Europe and are a real sign of intent.”

    Be still, my beating heart…..

Any team can find fabulous bargains from time to time (Larsson, Moravcik), but if your big summer signings consist of permanently injured free transfers, untested young players on loan deals, undistinguished journeymen strikers and people being offloaded at a significant loss by their club, you need to be very, very lucky indeed!
