After a day in which he was extensively linked with the vacant manager’s job at Spurs Celtic’s Twitter Account has invited fans to #askange.

To the surprise of no-one they were quickly swamped with questions, many about Spurs and life in London.

Since Arne Slot opted to stay at Feyenoord the Celtic boss has been the subject of speculation that he is top of Tottenham’s list.

It is now two months since Antonio Conte was sacked, much like Celtic post Neil Lennon there seems to be a lack of direction and urgency around appointing a successor.

Postecoglou spoke to the media at lunchtime and gave an interview with Sky Sports in which he was asked about the Spurs speculation.

‘I’m still here’ he replied with a laugh, repeating that his focus and attention is fully on Celtic and the remaining two matches of the season.

There was no discussion about his plans for next season which leaves the door open with Celtic fans in two camps over whether their glass is half empty or half full.

Ange will fulfil an ambition, Spurs can’t do that, Celtic can bring the attention, The true question is this. Will Spurs allow the time for Ange to instil his philosophy over 2-3 years? I very much doubt that, and if not given assurances to turn it around he will reject. Let’s be honest here, when Ange came here he stated a couple of seasons to get things right. We got a brilliant man and brilliant Manager and probably went ahead of schedule in what was expected. Ange will head off into the mist at some point, but Spurs?, I think Ange has more sense than to risk his name and rep at that Club.

Maybe Dermot Desmond had a quiet word with Ange the other day regarding his immediate future ? Who knows if Mr Desmond was tipped the wink that Tottenham might come sniffing around the manager this week ….
