Turkish side Samsunspor are reported to be interested in signing Filip Helander.

The defender hasn’t played for 13 months but it seems that a Turkish agent thinks that there are giveaways flying out of Ibrox.

Helander was one of five players that made an emotional farewell to Ibrox last week- next season e could be facing Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent in the Turkish Super Lig:

Fotospor reports:

Samsunspor, the new team of the Super Lig, has started to work on building a strong team in order to be permanent.

The first goal of Huseyin Eroglu , the coach of the Black Sea team, which completed the 1st League as champion, is to strengthen the defensive line.

Swedish defender Filip Helander is the most striking of the names on the list given by Eroglu, who watched many matches, who recently went on a European tour.

A positive response was given to Eroglu, who asked for an offer to be made for the Swedish defender who played for Rangers together with Fenerbahçe’s favourite Ryan Kent and Galatasaray’s favourite Alfredo Morelos.

Helander has been linked with a return to Malmo but big money in the sunshine is bound to appeal after a jinxed spell at Ibrox that involved 36 SPFL appearances in four years.

If Helander does sign for any club soon , I trust they will buy plenty of health / injury insurance for the big chap ? I mean this fella does himself a serious bodily devastation brushing his teeth in the morning …. As big Sgt Esterhaus always said …. Let’s be careful out there ,huh !
