Micky Beale has teased the Ibrox support over a new signing while showing up his own ignorance of transfer business.

It looks like Kieran Dowell or Dujon Sterling could be introduced to the fans at Wednesday’s game against Hearts with both men out of contract after being bit part players in the English Championship.

Listening in to Beale’s post match interview with Radio Scotland today, the Daily Record reports:

The window doesn’t open just yet so we can’t announce anything but when it opens we’ll be ready to announce one or two.

One might be announced on Wednesday at Ibrox so there’s another reason for people to maybe come along and see us in midweek.

My transfer window probably starts the first week in July and maybe there will be a couple of bits after that. I’m happy with where things are it.

Signings can be announced at any time, in December Celtic announced the signings of Alastair Johnston, Tomoki Iwata and Yuki Kobayashi with all three registered on January 1, Johnston made his debut at Ibrox on January 2.

Pre-season training will be underway before the end of June.

Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent were missing from today’s squad, before the match Beale revealed that Connor Goldson will be out for 10 weeks with a foot injury, the SPFL season starts on August 5/6.
