Sympathy was in short supply from Beale’s Bottlers after Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final defeat from Celtic.

A year ago they could do no wrong, John Lundstram was the Best Midfielder on Earth, Giovanni was an upgrade of Steven Gerrard while James Tavernier was the leading scorer in the Europa League.

After a third successive defeat to Celtic there was no hiding place for yesterday’s losers, there was no hard luck story, no heroic failure or near miss.

The previous day the Falkirk support stayed around to applaud their side despite the pain of a 3-0 semi-final defeat to Inverness Caley Thistle in a match that was done and dusted after less than an hour.

As a few players made attempts to acknowledge the backing of the Gullible & Deluded but they were met with boos which almost but not quite drowned out the expletives being hurled at the players on the pitch.

May looks like being a long and painful month for everyone at Ibrox with three more home matches to be suffered before the holidays officially begin.
