It is the refereeing controversy that the Scottish media perform contortions to avoid.

In the 52 matches since Kevin Clancy pointed to the penalty spot at Pittodrie, the following day Sky Sports obtained a leaked letter of complaint sent to the SFA about the performance of the referee.

No further penalties were awarded against the Ibrox club during Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s reign, that baton has been picked up by Micky Beale with a full run just four matches away with John Beaton on top form yesterday.

Connor Goldson had two hands on Duk for about four seconds but was unable to ground the Aberdeen forward, Goldson eventually gave up.

Beaton and his assistant in front of the Main Stand viewed the incident clearly, as did Steven Kirkland on VAR duty.

PLZ produce a daily football show, hosted by Peter Martin they have access to media conferences at all SPFL clubs.

Perhaps this week they can ask Micky Beale about the only competition that he is likely to win, across the city Celtic have had seven penalties awarded against them including awards to Ross County and Dundee United at Celtic ParK.

In 10 European matches this season with referees appointed by UEFA Van Bronckhorst’s side had four penalties awarded against them.

    Gaun yersel wee Peter McGuire!

  • Scud Missile says:

A doppelganger fan of the sevco klub a supposedly Hearts fan phoned SSB tonight to say Starfelt attacked the Hearts goalkeeper.
He then moved on to a refereeing decision from 2006 all the way back 17 years,a don’t care what anybody says that was a sevco fan that phoned in.

    • Nick66 says:

Bang on Scud, listened in and heard the call you refer to. I think people,(not Peepul) are starting to get fed up of the keep “The Rangers” relevant agenda. A team that if Reffed properly would be lower top 6, or, higher bottom 6 at the split.

  • KC67 says:

It’s blatant cheating. How clubs and fans can sit by and say and do nothing about this is incredible. The rules of the game apply to eleven of the twelve clubs in the league. Same as the league sponsorship deal funny enough.
If it wasn’t constantly benefitting one team it would be laughable, but we know there’s more to it than that.

  • Bob (original) says:

WIth a distinct lack of penalties conceded at home by the Ibrox club,

    you don’t have to be a statistician to hypothesize that both;

    The Scottish Referees’ Association

    &

    The Scottish Football Association

    are corrupt organisations, [allegedly].

I want my team to make a formal, public complaint to the SFA, [and/or UEFA?],

ideally with other SPL clubs’ support.

    • Teapot says:

The problem is that the aforementioned organisations aren’t exactly paragons of virtue when it comes to “tolerance of corruption”. You only have to look at the SFA’ “nae baws” dealings with RFC and UEFA being …. Well UEFA. So nothing will be done.

  • harold shand says:

Wonder if the Ibrox message boys that work for the Daily Record , Football Scotland etc who pour over podcasts and phone ins for articles will run with this one

  • David Mccallum says:

Unbelievable run of corrupt officials. Nothing else .it’s unheard if any team in any league NOT having any penalties awarded against themnin acseason. But then again. This is the same team who all through a worldwide pandemic.(covid) did not have 1 negative test against them .fir the whole pandemic of 2 years. The 8nly football team in World football. The WHO missed a cure that rangers obviously found .but never told anyone else.

  • Zeddy says:

Is this a betting scam ????

    Nope.just cheating

  • Wullie Tracey says:

The obvious truth is that a dyed in the wool theRangers2012 supporter, if permitted to referee their games, will simply refuse to give a penalty against them, regardless of how blatant the offence.

If I was permitted to referee Celtic games I would be the same.

    It is only natural.

The only difference is that I would never be permitted to referee Celtic games whereas, for some reason, Beaton is permitted to referee thRangers2012 games.
