A massive Qatar based Twitter account has claimed that terms have been agreed with Jota to join a club in the Saudi League.

Alkass has over 1.4m followers on Twitter and is the main broadcaster in the state that hosted the World Cup Finals last year.

Jota signed a five year contract last summer when he joined Celtic on a permanent basis from Benfica and played a major part in last season’s Treble success, scoring in three of the six Glasgow derbies.

Translation:

The Saudi club Al Ittihad agrees with the Portuguese player Jota on all terms and details of the contract to join its ranks during the current summer transfer period; And a few minor details remain with his club

Earlier this week Al Ittihad were linked with a move for Reo Hatate.

The Saudi League threatens to overwhelm the traditional markets during the current transfer window, building on the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo.

With his love for life outside of football it isn’t likely that Jota would be chasing a move to Saudi but almost all footballers have a tipping point where the terms on offer are just too much to turn down.

The former Benfica man is due back for pre-season training on Monday with Brendan Rodgers expected to have to deal with interest in a number of his players.

£50m offer…. Best of luck Jot, don’t be a stranger, come back & see us some time!

I would expect he might have a buy-out clause in his contract, at least for bids from top leagues…. should still be a high figure though.

There’s more than 1 Jota from Portugal plying his trade in the Ingerlish & Scottish Leagues.

“And a few minor details remain with his club”.

So they’ve agreed a deal with the player before they’ve agreed a deal with Celtic.
And obviously Celtic have said “Yeah, go and unsettle our player before we get a confirmed bid.”

I smell something and it ain’t roses.

I smell another Close Season Cup exit for Celtic and progress to the semi final now for Sevco (There must be at least two gazillion pounds worth of players signing for them before the season’s end surely !

This is totally unfounded garbage! The arrival of Brendan Rodgers has clearly set panic in the Scottish media ranks. Has it escaped the notice of these clowns that the middle eastern leagues are first being built on experienced players heading towards the end of their careers and who have achieved most of everything they could have done in their career already.
    Jota is just beginning.
There is no chance he is only in it for the money.
To the Scottish media I say, “KEEP ON DREAMING”

So they agreed the deal with the player but only a few minor details with the club have to be sorted out

    Aye right

Hatate , Kyogo , CCV , Starfelt ,, the only one they ain’t had for the off was Jota but it was only a matter of time

Al Kass is the equivalent of ITV to Bein Sports BBC (in the Qatar Sports media industry)
Jorge Mendes has put a few of his clients into the Saudi league , gotta get his 10% somehow !! Personally I think its shite but it has gained traction even in the Portuguese press so who knows !
