Barry Ferguson is unsure of what sort of budget Brendan Rodgers has been handed at Celtic.

Fergie loves a no-brainer, it is safe to assume that the new Celtic boss will have significantly more to spend than Micky Beale.

Rodgers wasn’t tempted to Celtic by vague assurances, contact was initiated by Dermot Desmond with Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay doing the follow up work.

The Celtic boss met Odin Thiago Holm before the Norwegian signed for the club, Callum McGregor took a quick break from the Scotland training camp in Spain to update the incoming manager on how the squad is placed.

Discussing Celtic’s transfer options on Go Radio, Glasgow Live reports Ferguson saying:

I couldn’t see Kyogo playing at Tottenham. They are world class, the Harry Kanes and Sons of this world. Don’t get me wrong, he has been brilliant for Celtic, there’s no doubt about it.

His work-rate, attitude. It will be interesting to see who stays and who goes under Brendan Rodgers and what sort of budget he’ll have. I don’t imagine he would have come up to Scotland without a budget to operate on.

Not only does Rodgers have far more to spend than Beale but he also has a squad full of assets.

In all likelihood at least one, possibly two regulars from last season will be sold this summer, almost certainly Rodgers will have been assured that reinvesting in the team is the priority ahead of stockpiling money in the bank.

Tottenham are world class ! – Oh Barry, you give me a laugh if nothing else…

They MIGHT become world class under the guiding light of Ange Postecoglou, but even under The Great Ange it’s a huge might…

And though Barry says Kyogo won’t go or get to go to Tottenham – we all know that he’s desperately praying for that to happen, just like every other Sevco fan out there !

To be fair to the vickie flicker .. think the world class remark was about Kane and Son and not the club as a whole.
