PLZ Soccer joined BBC Scotland on the outside looking in as Brendan Rodgers was introduced to the media as Celtic manager.

A tweet from PLZ explained the situation with most fans suspecting that the decision related to an early morning rant from Peter Martin after the Daily Mail had made it clear that Rodgers was on his way to becoming Celtic boss following talks with Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay.

On June 12 the driving force behind PLZ tweeted:

Some people have short memories. Player revolt, tedious football, European humiliation and a man declaring his love while working his ticket out of the club. #historylesson

Yesterday PLZ picked up on the video stream from Celtic, putting a negative spin on a few quotes from the new manager.

PLZ Soccer is basically a You Tube chat show that manages to pull in a pundits on the media circuit with Alan Rough and Tam McManus joining Martin on the sofa with regulars such as Tam Cowan and Alison McConnell sharing their views.

They do send out very professional content which seems to be financed by You Tube advertising with a daily two hour long show during the football season as well as news clips throughout the day. Some clips struggle to reach three figures on views, generally their chat show is watched around 5,000 times.

Celtic and their city rivals provide media access to PLZ which allows them to attend and ask questions at the pre and post match media conferences in the same manner as established broadcasters such as BBC Scotland, Sky Sports, STV, Radio Clyde and Go Radio.

The home page of their website claims that they produce ‘Unbiased Uncensored Unmatched’ content with an obvious contradiction between Martin’s hatchet job on June 12 and yesterday’s balanced claim.

Celtic are likely to host a media conference once the squad returns to pre-season training at Lennoxtown with attention on whether BBC Scotland and/or PLZ Soccer are in attendance.

Martin has hosted a number of events for Celtic including a charity dinner in London with Peter Lawwell and Rodgers in May 2017.

Celtic don’t get a favourable press from many outlets, it would be great if we could pick our media partners based on their honesty and fairness.
We are only after a fair and balanced crack of the whip, nothing more, nothing less.
It’s a shame that we have to partner up with certain media companies, especially the ones who provide tv coverage for our matches, the one in particular I don’t like pours billions of pounds into English football, season upon season and treat Scottish clubs , Celtic in particular with disdain, they do have their favourite club though, without a doubt.
I really hope this new Saudi Arabia initiative takes off and takes the best players from the EPL and see were that leaves them.
