Ninety minutes after Celtic announced the appointment of Brendan Rodgers the Daily Record had some comforting news for their army of elderly readers.

‘Rangers’ ‘£7m’ and ‘striker’ appeared in the headline but detail was as thin on the ground as news on Malik Tillman.

Set to launch a bid isn’t the most convincing of starts with the source of the story being reports in Greece. The Athens equivalent of the Daily Record.

After spending £3.5m on Sam Laggers Micky Beale mentioned the Player Trading Model. In short players will have to be sold before there will be any new signings, even the ‘no-brainer’ Tillman deal is outwith Beale’s reach.

Sadly for Record readers there is no interest in Borna Barisic, John Lundstram, Kemar Roofe, Glen Kamara, Scott Wright, Ben Davies or Jon McLaughlin. They will all be reporting for pre-season training in 11 days time.

Ignoring reality and being on UEFA’s Watch List the Record reports:

Rangers are set to launch a bid for Utrecht striker Anastasios Douvikas with an offer in the region of £7million, according to reports in Greece.

The Ibrox side have been linked with the 23-year-old frontman in recent days and they now appear ready to step that up as Michael Beale looks to bolster his attacking options following the arrival of Sam Lammers and with Rangers facing competition for Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers.

Fashion Sakala seems to be attracting some interest but after arriving as a free agent his contract is likely to ensure that he gets a healthy slice of any transfer fee.

Lol I posted a couple of days ago that this would happen,a squirrel story from ibrox on the same day our new manager is announced, and there we have it.

Lol if you notice another 2 or 3 clubs are also after the same players, so he will probably end up at one of those knowing fine well they had no intentions or the cash to follow up on the squirrel story.

Gavin Berry the Ibrox message boy getting told to invent a story to soothe the bears straight after Rodgers being announced

    • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Obviously as I don’t read these rags then I’ve never heard of this guy Harald – but hopefully he’s well named as in Berry and berry picking is all he’ll be doing when this rag is dead – (and won’t be a day too soon for all Celtic fans when it happens) – and by what you say it’s probably all he’s fit for anyway and that’s in no way being disrespectful to any hard working frontline berry pickers…

Hilarious the utter bullshit they ply The Gullibears with and no doubt they lap it all up and digest it like Sea Gullies munch up dead rats –

Very apt – as Rangers are dead and The Record are Rats ! ?

The very FANNY wrote last season that sevco would do the double and their doppelganger klub from Edinburgh would win the league cup,I rest my case.

More total feelgood pish and utter bollocks aimed at the hard of thinking deluded gullibillies: the dumbest fans in football.

  • John Copeland says:

After that doozy , we had Mick Gannon , an alleged Celtic scoop , profusely criticising the new head coach when he’s not yet been back 2 hours ! Was he ordered to be vindictive and spiteful by a boss or was he just following his heart’s desire ? The bottom line is that the daily Record are bricking it at Rodgers ‘ return and retaliate the only way It knows how to ….. by being harshly scathing and disingenuous!

Dave King’s ‘Fan Ownership’ in action.

Where their fans pay for everything 😀

    Give that man a handshake!

  • Davie says:

Rangers have already spent the reserved Tillman money on Lammers.
    £7million ain’t going to happen.
Rangers are also gambling on future sales money for current players they want to move on, however due to the failings of Bassey, Aribo & Pattterson, very few clubs If any are willing to risk a transfer fee on The Rangers unwanted.
Next story will be Neymar bid from The Rangers.
Anything to deflect the ibrox issues.
Watch out or your lights go out, anything Rosy has jaggy thorns in their sides.
