At the end of April, in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup Jota headed the ball past Allan McGregor with flat footed James Tavernier looking on helplessly.

As the Superstar from Portugal prepares for a very lucrative move to Saudi Arabia the serial loser is back at Murray Park full of hope and optimism for the new season before reality bites.

Ibrox fans have enjoyed almost a full month of Close Season joy as their club goes from strength to strength while things fall apart at the treble winners typified by the imminent departure of Jota. With a medal collection that Tavpen could only dream of.

Signed up for the Mark Warburton Revolution in 2015 he has collected two winners medals in his time in Glasgow- less than Jeremy Frimpong and Alistair Johnston, Frimpong spent 18 months with Celtic, Johnston arrived in January.

Despite those FACTS! Tav is a celebrated Hall of Famer, revered by Ibrox fans, time-served and experienced at apologising to supporters and promising that this time next year things will be much better.

As usual.
