Fabrizio Romao has revealed that Jota’s personal terms have been agreed in full for his transfer to Al Ittihad.

For some it might seem that the transfer is being done back to front with Celtic having to give permission for the player to discuss terms but agent Jorge Mendes is involved at every level.

Al Ittihad may not have spoken directly to Jota but they can discuss matters with his agent to ensure that the player is interested in moving to the Saudi League and what sort of terms he is looking for.

Almost all of the pieces for the transfer are in place with Celtic having to obtain the best possible terms which is likely to involve a full up front payment rather than getting the fee paid in instalments.

It was expected that Celtic would lose players this summer but the suddenness of Jota’s deal and his destination has come as a shock.

Although Brendan Rodgers is inheriting a squad with a variety of wide players none of them have the all round game that Jota brings- highlighted by scoring in three of last season’s six Glasgow Derbies.

This is a massive blow and an indication of what we are going to look like at the beginning of next season. WE will be considerably weaker. From the manager to the first team squad.

I fully expect us to lose another 3, 4 possibly 5 first-teamers; Abada, O’Riley, Kyogo, Hatate, Maeda will all be gone. Sadly BR is not the man to replace them with quality. His big spending track record in the transfer market is poor if we are being honest. He only focuses on players from the big leagues. The two signings we have made are Ange’s.

As for Chris Suttons nonsense about the CL and legendary status at Celtic; Who cares? Players are moving to Saudi and this is going to be a league watched by the TV package payers in the mid and far East. This is the future and players moving there will become a flood in the next 2 seasons.

Truth is Jota’s agent has told him you will not be asked in 2 years as you will not be a big enough name. 200,000 grand if you are desperate to play for Madrid perform well here and the chance will still come. I love the English reaction, including big Sutton.

It is quite racist, petty and completely without irony. In short a Brezxit reaction. Bloody foreigners coming in and ruining football. WE have been ruining it for over 30 years with Sky money and that’s the way it should be. Wahhh!Wahhhh. It’s no fair.

Good luck to Jota rather lose him to Saudi than Burnley or Leicester even. Makes more sense.

Dont think he will be the biggest loss we have encountered and wish him well. Its a good bit of business but again the scurge of football AGENTS have turned his head and the thirty pieces of silver syndrome pops up once again, wont be the last either.

    £30M

It’s all about cash with these guys so let’s see it. Worry is Rodgers wirh this cash, signed a fair few duds last time round

Editor: I suspect he had very little to do with signing Benkovic, Izaguirre, Mulumbu, Burke, Bayo, Toljan, Perez, Gutman, Shved and Toljan.
