At 12 noon on Monday Celtic fans got the message that they had been hoping for.

By 8am on Tuesday the tweet about the appointment of Brendan Rodgers had reached more than five million Twitter users. That is the equivalent of Celtic Park filled 85 times.

On Sunday night Fabrizio Romano and others had tweeted that agreement had been reached between Celtic and their former manager but there was no first thing on Monday announcement to the London Stock Exchange.

The analytics of that tweet demonstrate the power of Celtic and the reach of social media.

With print sales of newspapers in Scotland well below 100,000, Twitter allows Celtic to get their message directly out to fans far and wide. On the back of that reach more than 25,000 liked the tweet with over 1,400 comments added.

Other than the official website announcement of Rodgers’ return there was just a brief video clip on You Tube to mark the appointment of a new manager.

A club interview or two is expected before Rodgers flies in to Scotland later this week to get hands on and face the media.

Roger Hannah and Tom English both been caught sniffing each others vigilantes giving sunbed Sam some heavy duty criticism.

English should be getting his P45 for the s***e he is spewing out.

Hannah was at it as well on SSB last night reading it line for line what Englush spewed out.
Tom English and Roger Hannah aka as big Benny from Crossroads and Sam Dingle from Emmerdale.

  • Jim Kearney says:

Hearing flack from someone purporting to be a Celtic legend, more like a LEG END, just another who took the thirty pieces of silver and should be banquished from Celtic park for his continued digs at the team, the fans, the management.
