Lewis Ferguson has joined the cheerleading for Micky Beale’s summer Revolution- it must be in the genes.

Dad Deke and Uncle Baz can be relied on the sugar coat any news out of Ibrox as they spread the message on Radio Scotland, Go Radio, Open Goal and in the Daily Record.

Signing three strikers that were relegated last season and combined scored less goals than the guy sold to Parma would concern supporters at most clubs but in the case of Beale it is a shrewd move as he shows his eye for hidden gems.

Sam Lammers scored one goal in 19 appearances for Sampdoria last season as they were relegated from Serie A, that followed a stint of one goal in 14 matches for Empoli.

In comparison Cyriel Dessers was prolific with six goals in 26 matches as Cremonese joined Samp in the drop to Serie B.

Applying the family logic, Bologna star Lewis Ferguson told The Sun:

I played against Lammers when he was with Sampdoria and he is a really technical player. I watched the Newcastle game where he scored his first goal and you could see how good he was.

He picks up nice areas behind the striker and he is someone who will create chances. He is the type of player who will suit how Rangers want to play, especially when they are trying to break teams down.

I didn’t come up against Dessers when we played Cremonese but he scored a good few goals in the league.

There is no doubt he’s a good player — if you are playing in Serie A and you score goals then you are a talented striker. He will bring something different to Rangers.

Loan signing Abdallah Sima scored five times in 34 appearances last season as Amiens were relegated from Ligue 1 in France.

Last season Antonio Colak scored 18 goals, he also scored twice at Ibrox for Malmo the previous season.

    Ha!

If these, erm, unprolific strikers don’t start banging in the goals from the off,

then how long before the bears start growling for El Buffalo to return?

…and that’s safely assuming that he still hasn’t found another club. 🙂
