Celtic fans on Kerrydale Street last night were teased over a likely £16m signing expected in the coming days.
Sd23 hasn’t been on the Message Board very long but as other fans despaired over the departure of Ange Postecoglou and the underwhelming candidates to succeed the Australian sd23 threw in the name of Brendan Rodgers.
It seemed a ridiculous notion but sd23 didn’t waver, providing an uncanny reading of the situation as the Celtic big-hitters headed to Santa Ponsa leading to the return of the Irishman on a three year contract.
As the jitters set in over that deal being completed sd23 provided some calm with the deal completed exactly as predicted.
Concerns over the transfer of Jota occupied the last few days but late on Saturday night you-know-who appeared on the scene with the inside track on Celtic’s transfer plans.
Celtic moved swiftly to get over the loss of Postecoglou with similar action expected this week as Jota makes the inevitable move to Al Ittihad.
Two arrivals can be expected this week, one for a record fee way in excess of the £9m that was paid for Odsonne Edouard in the summer of 2018 after a successful year on loan.
The £16m man has still to be identified but could be involved at the UEFA U-21 European Championships.

I’d be astounded if Celtic offer 16 million for one player. Talk about all your eggs in one basket. I’d think that 3 5-6 million players is far more likely.
