John Paul Taylor has confirmed that Celtic will be playing Wolves on Saturday July 29 at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

The two clubs were scheduled to meet in South Korea on July 26 but when that fixture fell through both clubs had a gap in their pre-season schedules to fill.

There has been speculation that the fixture could be relocated to Dublin but last night the Ticketmaster website got in ahead of both clubs with details of the match.

Normally both clubs would announce that type of fixture at the same time but it was left to Taylor, Celtic’s SLO to provide an out of hours service as hoops fans started to finalise travel plans.

Next week Celtic have friendlies in Japan on July 19 and 22 but nothing else scheduled until the James Forrest Testimonial match on August 1 at home to Athletic Bilbao.

During his first stint in charge of Celtic Brendan Rodgers had an early date in Dublin when they faced Barcelona in the International Champions Cup at the Aviva.
