Fashion Sakala is reported to have turned down a big money offer to move to Saudi Arabia.
While players across Europe wait by their phone for the offer of ‘generational wealth’ on offer from the Saudi League it seems like the Zambian ace would prefer to be at Ibrox, battling with Ianis Hagi and Rabbi Matondo for a place in Micky Beale’s side.
Sakala moved to Ibrox as a free agent two years ago, last season he was involved in some comical misses against Celtic at Hampden after highlighting his staunchness by referring to Ange Postecoglou’s side as ‘the other mob’.
With five new attacking players signed during the summer Sakala faces a tough task to build on last season when he started 22 out of 38 SPFL matches.
Late on Wednesday night Stephen McGowan of the Daily Mail revealed:
Rangers striker Fashion Sakala has turned down a big-money offer to move to Saudi Arabia.
Mail Sport understands that Saudi Pro League side Al-Fayha came in for the Zambian international, a second-half substitute in Wednesday night’s 3-1 pre-season defeat to Greek side Olympiakos at Ibrox.
Michael Beale is poised to complete the double signing of Danilo and Jose Cifuentes. And, on the verge of nine new signings this summer, the Ibrox boss has confirmed ‘three or four’ enquiries for players likely to find themselves toiling for first-team action.
Despite the arrival of £13million of new strike talent in Danilo, Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers curtailing his likely starting time, 26-year-old Sakala rejected the opportunity of a huge payday in the Middle Eastern kingdom.
There is very little detail on the deal put to Sakala, even the classic Chinese offers to Alfredo Morelos in January 2018 added details about the wages on offer and the length of the contract. Morelos is currently at home in Colombia, club-less and trying to drum up interest by taking pictures from a gym.
Two weeks ago the Daily Record was running with a bumper Saudi offer for Scott Wright which has yet to be followed up.

LIES .
Was this “Saudi offer” for him to go there and work as a teacher, a dentist, a car mechanic or a plumber or something? It can’t have been to go there as football player, surely? He’s shite at football. He can certainly run fast, but he couldnae trap a bag of cement.
I won the euromillions on Tuesday but told them I didn’t want the money , he could possibly go there as a deep pitch diver.
Is Hans Christian Anderson the source for these stories…??
If any Saudi offer comes in tae the tribute act fir ANY players that individual won’t have a say in it, they’ll be jettisoned immediately by the blue room dignitaries……
