Despite the best efforts of the cheerleaders cheerleader, even the Gullible & Deluded could see through last night’s home defeat to Olympiakos.

Jonny McFarlane and the gang at the Rangers Review have been out banging the drum all summer long applying the most incredible spin to every possible change at Ibrox.

Sign a ‘striker’ with six goals in three seasons and there is a podcaster somewhere in Holland that can explain the incredible season six years ago when yer man was pure magic.

Invited in to every Ibrox media conference where each new signing spoke very impressively which means the square root of hee-haw when you have to train with John Lundstram, Borna Barisic and Ryan Jack most days of the week. Dujan Sterling described Beale as a genius on the training ground even though ‘the former Chelsea star’ hasn’t seen the light of day in pre-season.

And when all else fails there is always Stats Bomb or a Heat Map that can produce any answer you, all from the man that thinks Barrie McKay is superior to Kieran Tierney and that James Tavernier has been the best player in Scotland over the last five seasons.

He could be right on that one if standing back watching your rivals lift trophies is a criteria.

The trouble with building up hope and expectations is that at some stage the fans are going to see what you are going on about. In three home pre-season matches that fans have paid £70 and more to watch nothing has changed. Even TikTok Todd has gone backwards.

A clueless display that saw Barisic, John Lundstram, Robbie McCrorie and Ben Davies start the match was the evidence that the fans dreaded. Just like the Newcastle and Hamburg performances.

In two weeks time Ibrox hosts a Champions League qualifier that Beale has been building his pre-season towards, signing up his free agents and relegated strikers nice and early so that they can benefit from as many world class training sessions as possible.

If this Revolution goes the same way as Gio’s did last season there will be no hiding place for Mister Beale and his most avid supporter in fan media.

They have nothing to worry about it’s the sane dross nickel&dime players playing at ibrox, but the refs will keep them on track with the dodgy penalties and offside decisions and goals chopped off for the opposition, the ref was a classic example last night with that penalty for sevco.

I did see the highlights of the Olympiacos game, with the obligatory, soft TavPen!

[Cantendwell has obviously been working on his diving technique during the summer.]

As for the growling bears – when the season hasn’t even started…

The lastest DR article by a Scott Burns today was very interesting.

    The tone was very clear:

Beale has been ‘fully’ backed with his rebuilding of the sevco squad,

and article’s message was best summed up with this extract:

“…Now, there can be no excuses. Beale has his players and now he must show he can go toe-to-toe with Celtic when it really matters…”

Is the Blue Room lining up its excuses / finger-pointing early?! 🙂

    It’s only a friendly . It’s only a friendly . It’s only a friendly …..You’re still a dud as a scoop . You’re still a dud as a scoop . You’re still a dud as a scoop .
