The picture that destroys the myth over Glasgow Derby allocations

There can be little doubt that all of the debate and controversy over ticket allocations for the Glasgow Derby has been driven from Ibrox reacting to the hysterics of their social media.

Follow Follow petitioned the club to end the Broomloan Road allocation from 7,000 down to 700 in a corner surrounded by angry bears on all sides.

When smashed glass mysteriously appears in the penalty box at half-time and a physio has his head smashed by a bottle thrown by a hospitality guest you can imagine what the punters in the cheap seats have to put up with.

All along Celtic have stood one step behind their city rivals, travelling on coaches supplied by a former Ibrox chairman and stepping aside from the SPFL Board of Directors to share the honour with their partners across the city.

With Celtic repeating the ticket arrangements driven from Ibrox another myth has been allowed to grow which is that Celtic fans were given a full stand at Ibrox while the loyal bears were squeezed into a wee corner out of sight of the TV cameras.

Like their interpretation of the events of 2012 it is a claim without a grain of truth.

The pain of four successive Celtic wins at Ibrox has now denied generations of bears the joy of celebrating an equaliser from Clint Hill.

Both clubs gave 7,000 tickets to away supporters for the fixture up until the end of the 2017/18 season, during which a goal from Odsonne Edouard made it four wins on the bounce for Celtic at Ibrox. The Free Broomloan had been turned into a party stand.

Since Dave King opted to cut Celtic’s allocation the hoops have been on the back foot, barely commenting while the network of Ibrox messengers pushed their agenda from sources inside the club.

The ball is now in Michael Nicholson’s court, he is paid a huge salary to provide leadership.

Explaining the reasons why Celtic won’t be taking tickets on September 3 would be a start but highly unlikely from a CEO who remained on mute when glass appeared in Hart’s goal-mouth and a club employee was permanently disfigured at Ibrox. It seems that nothing can impact on the cherished brand that Celtic have copyrite on.

Should Celtic accept 700 tickets for Ibrox?

For longer than I care to remember …our Club has remained silent on issues that needed addressed publicly….This, sadly, is one more example….and it appears that when it comes to matters of Sevco…we are cowards….And I can only assume that they have the negatives or a video…Something stinks.

Editor: Both boards of directors know about the events of 2012 and the driving force behind it.

  • Terence Nova says:

Please note that you have told me that…but NOT the Club…who, apparently, have NEVER seen the 5 Way Agreement.

Editor: At the 2022 AGM, Nicholson admitted that he had read the Five (Six) Way Agreement and that there was nothing detrimental to Celtic in it. Depends on whether you think being part of the O** F*** is detrimental or not.

    • Terence Nova says:

Was not aware of that…thanks…But am i right in saying Mr.Lawwell claims not to have seen it ?

Editor: You are 100% correct. Asked about Celtic involvement in the 2012 deal Lawwell laughed at the AGM and said he had never seen it. The 2023 AGM will be the first time he has attended an AGM since then. Interesting.

  • Terence Nova says:

Meant to ask…Can you expand on the ” Driving force behind it “…??

Editor: Can you think of the CEO whose salary was most related to the O** F***?

  • Tam says:

Glass on the park, weapons placed for use later, opposing teams attacked by missiles, opposing fans attacked by missiles, an opposing assistant scarred for life, why would anyone wish to go there…. it’s NOT SAFE… the club “the rangers” admitted that they could not guarantee the safety of pundits doing their job.. commentating…so it’s not just the scum fans… it’s the whole club from the board down..a Morton fan told me that they had missiles rain down on them.. he told his brother who was in the other end… his brother sent a letter to Ibrox about it…he is still awaiting a reply

    • Scud Missile says:

Let’s see if they let big Sutton into the BIGOT DOME when we go there in a few weeks time.
The clock is ticking down on it and nothing has been mentioned as yet.
Remember BT had to broadcast a previous European game with Sutton as a pundit away from the BIGOT DOME as sevco could not guarantee his safety.

  • Scud Missile says:

This so called 5 Way Agreement why doesn’t a journalist ask to see it through the Freedom of Information Act,there is a certain journalist who could use his journalist ID credentials to see this.

  • TicToc says:

I didn’t know Nicholson said he didn’t see anything detrimental to Celtic in the 5(6) Way.
If there was nothing wrong with that agreement then why was it done in strict privacy and not published? Because it’s a FRAUD perpetrated on Scottish football supporters with the full knowledge and “agreement” of all of their boards. It’s a huge con.
Doncaster admitted their was no vehicle to allow Sevco to join the then SPL of which he was CEO. They (Rangers FC 1872/3) were NOT relegated or demoted, they simply went bust and are CURRENTLY in the final throes of Liquidation. Sevco was ADMITTED (again wrongly) to the bottom tier of professional football despite having NO footballing history; just a hastily arranged company and a purchase from a Liquidation sale, some con tricks, and hey presto we’ve still got Rangers. It’s a total lie just like everything about that utter scum from south of the Clyde. But Nicholson sees nothing “detrimental”? FFS, just how can this be allowed to be.
AND, I think it was Spartans but not sure that SHOULD have, on merit, joined SFL 2 as it was then and NOT Sevco Scotland Limited, a new company pretending to be Rangers FC. and being ALLOWED that pretence right up until today.
BTW, the journalists and all media know all about this but they’re all huns and don’t WANT to know it, so they keep it buried. The SFA, and the SPL and SFL (now SPFL) created this monster with collusion from Celtic FC (unsigned, hence 5(6) Way) and the other 2 of 5 were Charles Green for Sevco Scotland Limited and the Administrators of Rangers FC (IL) and they are all private companies and hence NOT subject to FOI legislation or that route would have been explored many years ago. But FRAUD it was and FRAUD it is and there’s no time bar on FRAUD. This isn’t over and OUR CLUB is a silent, unsigned party to all of it.
PS Our then Chief Executive, currently Chairman professed to know nothing about the 5 Way around 2013.
Given all the facts, including MN’s recent admission, I find that very hard to believe, indeed I don’t believe he was telling the truth but accept it’s nearly impossible to prove. Let’s just say on the balance of probabilities…….

The above is written in the utmost good faith and is correct and complete to the very best of my knowledge.

    • William Melvin says:

I’m pretty sure, unless l dreamt it,that Lawwell was proved to be lying with regards to having seen the 5 way agreement.
There was an email containing the agreement sent to his private email address.
This lying piece of excrement should have been told to clear his desk as soon as it was found to be true that he had lied to the Celtic AGM.
That he wasn’t is another stain on the soul of our great club.
However, he deemed it prudent to jump ship when the heat got too much after the disastrous 10 in a row season but, true to form,he wormed his way back into our club in the role of chairman, announced under the cover of a world Cup played in the winter when there would be minimal protest from our fans as there were no games being played at Celtic Park at that time.
I will rejoice the day that this lying parasite is no longer able to visit the place we call Paradise in any capacity whether he is connected to our great club in a working capacity or not.
That day can’t come soon enough !

      • TicToc says:

William, to the best of my knowledge, Mr Lawwell has NEVER ADMITTED to having seen the 5 Way. If he had admitted it openly it would ALL be out in the public domain, which of course it is NOT. You’re correct about the email, to which the 5 Way was attached, but he insisted he knew nothing of it???
It was sent around 9.00 PM on Thursday 26th July 2012 and it said that if no dissenters replied by 10.00 AM on Friday 27th July 2012 it would be taken that each and every recipient was in agreement. Just look again at the timescale, by email, in business?
It’s a stitch-up. They all knew in advance and it would seem incredible otherwise to deal in this extremely dodgy manner. The hurry was to get it agreed so that “rangers” could play Brechin on Sunday 29th July when IN FACT it was Sevco who played Brechin as the name change from Sevco Scotland Limited to TRFCL did not go through until Tuesday 31st July 2012. Lest we forget…….

        • William Melvin says:

          Thanks for the info,TicToc.

At the end of the day,and if l’m reading you correctly, it’s all semantics with Lawwell regarding this stuff.

Obviously, he will never admit to it but in a court of law someone who is accused of murder doesn’t have to be witnessed doing the dirty deed .

All it requires is for there to be no reasonable doubt the they were the perpetrator to get a conviction.

Similarly, the same conclusion can be drawn that from the time the email was deposited in Lawwell’s account to when he was questioned at the AGM regarding the 5 way agreement he had knowledge of that email and so by this alone he had the l opportunity to avail himself of the information therein.

It’s for the birds for him to say he had never seen what the email contained when you consider how he micro managed affairs at Celtic Park.
Shee-it, he couldn’t let the tea lady go for a pint of milk without having some involvement in the process and by virtue of his acknowledged persona as being one nosey bastard…… and may l add one lying bastard into the bargain.

          • TicToc says:

Semantics indeed, William, mixed with mal-intent for anyone but themselves in this disgraceful fraud. I don’t have the means to follow this up but I’m happy to keep informing people as I myself was informed by much reading, searching and reading again. From 2011 (perhaps even before) PMGB uncovered much and so too did others. BTW, there were 2 recipients of the 5 Way at CP, the other being Eric Riley who left the PLC around 2015/16 due, I believe, to poor health.
I’d dearly love to see it all exposed and hope that, one day, it will but as justice and journalism are both just meaningless words in Scotia it would have to come from outside Scotland. The City of London police perhaps?

  • TicToc says:

I’ve sent a full and frank, rather lengthy reply to some of the above and expect Joe will have to check it carefully due to its content. I hope he will then ‘publish’ it on here as it needs to be kept alive or the truth will, once again where Ibrox is concerned, be airbrushed out of reality and into the sewers where that scum must dwell.

  • Bob (original) says:

This all smells a bit iffy?

Has sevco manufactured a very public spat around derby allocations now,

as a distraction? Has all the hallmarks of prior Ibrox behaviour: when in the

sh!t, circle the wagons, throw out wild accusations in every direction to get the

bears onboard – and angry at someone else / some other club.

And as for the standard Celtic silence: ‘never complain, never explain’,,,

that pathetic PR approach has proved in the past to be wholly outdated – and

offensive to many of us paying punters.

Nicholson could take the initiative and declare:

in the absence of any additional, publicised safety measures to protect Celtic

supporters, staff and players, no tickets will be accepted for Ibrox for this season.

Additionally, no ticket allocations will be offered to The Rangers visting Celtic Park.

The club’s position will be reviewed next summer.

    End of.

  • the maister says:

Then why doesn’t Nicholson disclose the contents of the
    “Five Way agreement”
if he has nothing to hide.
    He is the Chairman.
He thinks he is innocent because it was on Lawwell’s watch that it was consigned.
It is a fraud and everybody knows it!
I have no doubt that Lawwell can see no conflict in holding a high office at our Club!

Editor: Nicholson is the CEO, he has clearly decided that keeping quiet is less harmful than opening up on the document that his predecessor decided to avoid looking at for seven years- if you believe what he told shareholders in 2019.

    • the maister says:

      A
      “Titular”
point! They are all Directors and Nicholson is the
      “Heid”
      one!

  • Terence Nova says:

Going by the responses on here…It is obvious that I am not alone in expressing my disgust.at our Board’s lack of interest in these matters…All I can say is… In protest I gave up my cherished Season Ticket …Hated doing it…but it was my way of telling them to.GTF….
