Celtic completed three deals on Transfer Deadline Day with a further deal expected to go through later today.

There had been expectations of more arrivals with Brendan Rodgers telling Sky Sports that he hoped to have more confirmations before midnight but in the end Paolo Bernardo was the only addition to the squad, the ninth of the summer.

Ismaila Soro moved out on a permanent basis, joining Beitar Jerusalem while Sead Haksabanovic joined Stoke City on loan.

The one left-over deal involves Albian Ajeti who appears to have agreed everything to join Turkish side Gazientep without signing a contract, fortunately the Turkish Transfer Window stays open until September 15.

There are still a number of transfer windows open including Switzerland, Poland, Greece, Israel and Belgium which could be used for reducing the Celtic squad.

James McCarthy was tipped recently to be leaving but nothing went through yesterday, with no prospect of playing and two years left on his contract that issue continues to rumble on.

There were no reports of any younger players going out on loan with deals recently completed for Ben McPherson, Ben Summers, Tobi Oluwayemi and Matthew Anderson.

Very disappointing window, but not surprised now that Mr LawWell is back. Money kept in the bank account, the team not the first priority. I hope I’m wrong but I expect we will lose at Ibrox, not due to form, but I think they will be too physical for us. We have no powerful defensive midfielder and our team is very lightweight.

I agree with the lightweight bit Dan…and their boots will be flying in…make no mistake.
In any other country you could look to the Officials for ” protection” …but we’ll get yellow carded for complaining.
I’m never confident in this fixture ( never have been…silly me )…but I can only hope that good football will overcome brawn.
      ‘Mon the Hoops.

its not mark lawwell i am bothered about it is peter we got rid of him but he managed to to work his has ay back he used to say plenty money for bying players but never let go the purse strings always leaving to buying players to last minute to save a few bob which cost us players as other teams would step in and buy.

When Ange came just before lawwell came back he bought the players without strings i supect he is influencing his son we need to get rid of peter lawwell he has served his time at celtic get rid.

We should never have let him back in

On the transfer front…I thought the last minute crap was behind us…then I remembered that Lawwell was back.
Why BR took the job on under these circumstances is beyond me…but he did…and look what’s happened.
I’ll let them off the hook with the Centre Back situation…but the rest of it is pretty shambolic..
The bad old days have returned.
But the Share prices and Dividends will be worth it.
