Seven minutes from half-time Daizen Maeda ran on to a great flighted pass, took one touch then fired his shot into the Dundee net, it looked like a well deserved breakthrough.

After the initial celebrations there was the realisation of a VAR check, the assistant referee had flagged, play paused with referee Grant Irvine deciding to stand with Dundee keeper Trevor Carson as he waited instruction.

About two minutes after the ball found the net play restarted with a free kick to Dundee with the game goal-less.

Apparently Steven Kirkland on VAR duty has evidence that Maeda was offside but he wasn’t for sharing the evidence. The official attendance was reported at 57,234 none of whom have a clue about why the goal was disallowed.

Celtic TV wasn’t able to provide any evidence for the decision despite the SFA claiming to use Hawkeye technology with cameras calibrated to give pinpoint decisions.

We were told that at Motherwell last season when a stunning goal from Jota was disallowed, two days later the SFA admitted that there had been a camera malfunction but added that the long range camera confirmed that Jota was offside when he RECEIVED the ball when everyone knows that the decision has to be made the ball is PLAYED.

It seems incredible that the SFA won’t share the evidence to back up Kirkland’s decision, it is almost as if they have something to hide after releasing a squinty line to justify Kilmarnock’s Viaplay Cup goal against Celtic last month.

Yes, no way of telling without VAR? I mean with VAR!

And no one at Parkhead will utter a cheep – not one word will be said…

Hopefully some rabid shareholders can embarrass these cowardly people at The AGM –

Change the colours of the suits from that bland grey to yellow to ‘suit’ the people that wear them !

Yes, another continuing disconnect between the Board and the support.

Us paying punters would like questions asked when we are confused about

    match decisions,

whereas the Board simply looks the other way, without public comment.

Lawwell would probably claim he never even saw Maeda’s disallowed goal! 🙁
