Kyogo Furuhashi is adamant that there is no issue with his left shoulder despite missing a couple of first half minutes in the 3-0 win over Dundee on Saturday.

The striker returned to score with a brilliant header then set up Celtic’s third for Matt O’Riley but it was concerns for his shoulder that occupied most fans leaving the match.

Twice last season Kyogo had to be substituted early in games due to the shoulder injury which also flared up during the pre-season training camp in Portugal.

Since scoring at Ibrox on January 2 Kyogo has been in incredible form in front of goal and is clearly irreplaceable in the Celtic side.

Asked about the shoulder issue The National reports:

Speaking through an interpreter, he said: “There is no problem. None at all. There’s no problem, so nothing to worry about.”

That seems fairly emphatic but the usual script with a dislocated shoulder is that it can be popped back in once but if the issue repeats itself surgery is the only solution.

Celtic and Kyogo both seem content with the current situation with attention switched to Feyenoord and the Champions League on Tuesday night.

If Kyogo does get injured , who is the back up striker that all fans can be completely confident of to slip into his boots and continue to score the goals ? That’s an issue which worries me !
