Out of all news stories floating around today BBC Scotland have turned to TeamTalk for their lead gossip story.
TeamTalk, like Football Insider is the very definition of click-bait. Link together a couple of big names and thrown ‘our sources’ into the mix and you have a story with no credibility that will attract the curious.
Apparently Brentford are considering a January bid for Matt O’Riley.
A bigger EXCLUSIVE! would be if there are any EPL clubs that AREN’T considering making a bid for the outstanding Celtic midfielder.
Still only 22 he spent a decade in the Fulham Academy, turned down another contract to get first team football at MK Dons that has led to Celtic, Champions League football and a call up to the full Danish international side.
After two outstanding Champions League displays against clubs from Italy and Spain it is only natural that English clubs will be looking very carefully at O’Riley.
With a staff list that pays Tom English, Kenny Macintyre, Chris McLaughlin and Alasdair Lamont it is hardly a surprise that the BBC turns to commercial operators to put something readable on their webpages.
The close season excitement of Brendan Rodgers being under pressure from a real challenge from Ibrox is looking to be on fragile ground, if Macintyre and English trample their ample frames on that story it is likely to collapse under their feet.

Sevco positive – Celtic negative… Same old, same old, same old, same old…
One of these days I’ll be lucky to meet one of these BBC Scotland bar stewards in a pub and I am one that is armed to the teeth with statistics between Celtic and Sevco to throw at them –
Trust me – NOTHING is in Sevco’s favour…
I’d start – “ Well, we beat yous (deceased) fcuker’s 5-2 in the first game (a friendly) and we beat yous 1-0 in the first official game”
Among other things…
First Hat – Trick scorer (Jimmy Quinn) in ‘Old Firm’ (as it was known then) Scottish Cup Final…
First to do six in a row league titles
First player to score directly from a corner kick (Patsy Gallacher)
Empire Exhibition Cup winners
Record domestic football match record (146,433)
Coronation Cup Winners
Record win in a UK cup final (7-1) v Rangers (as they were known as then)
European Cup Winners (Scotland’s only Champions of Europe)
Record European football match attendance (133,961)
Biggest in a row League Cup Wins (5)
Biggest in a row Scottish Cup Wins (4)
Biggest in a row League wins (9) – First to do it and only club to do it twice
Biggest consecutive trophy winning run (12 in a row)
Longest unbeaten run in UK professional football (69 games)
Scotland’s only invincibles in the three domestic trophies (2016/17)
Quadruple Treble Winners (World Record)
First UK club to be European Champions
Fastest European Hat – Trick scorer (Mark Burchill)
Only UK club to go The Clean Sweep (Clachnacuddin came close in 1947/48 with 5 trophies but no European Champions) !
Phew ! – Glad that I got that off ma chest and that’s just for starters…
There are plenty mixed pubs here and they know very well not to dare engage with me in any bragging rights as they will NEVER EVER EVER win !
Just need to start meeting some of The Scottish Football Media in pubs now to put them right on a few statistical home truths !
And the 9er under one manager Big Jock
BBC Sevco as I’ve said before don’t watch it. Don’t listen to it. Delist, defund and disband it. No loss.
The Daily Record’s main news story is about an ex-Ranger’s player who lost a puppy in a kennel fire. While that would certainly fly if he was appearing on BGT and sad though it is, the rest of the UK is going with the devastation in Palastine as Iraelis have stepped up their invasion.
Scotland is a one horse town and it is a big white stallion.
Actually, historically they got that wrong but since when does the truth matter?.
Fact:
“His chestnut horse became hopeless bogged down on the south bank and in fact, the Great Warrior that was William (King Billy) suffered from an asthma attack – only to be rescued by an Innikilling Trooper by the name of MacKinlay.
The white horse was added by European Artists to their painting of the King, meant to be satyrical as Louis XIV had been painted on a white horse as he crossed the Rhine.”
Thank fcuk that I don’t buy or pay to read Scottish or UK papers Charlie…
They really are the pits indeed –
I guess the bonus of not buying or reading them is a few more nights in the pub…
And of course my intelligence isn’t insulted !
Hi
I always have a look online for a laugh especially now that Frasier 2023 is crap.
