Steven Naismith has told Celtic that Hearts will always put their own fans first when it comes to ticket allocations.

In March Scottish Cup rules meant that 3,500 away fans cheered Ange Postecoglou’s side to victory as Robbie Neilson’s time in charge at Tynecastle came under serious threat.

Naismith was in charge by the time Celtic celebrated winning the SPFL Premiership title in May but the ticket allocation was down to 1,200, on Sunday there will be 561 away fans cheering on the visitors from a section of the Roseburn Stand.

Whether Hearts can fill the rest of the stand remains open to question, three days before the match tickets are still available to home fans.

Celtic will have their view, just like we have our view with what we get when we go to away grounds.

Over the last five or six years, the momentum has been building for the club in general, whether that be with the new stand being built, the backing the club have got or the foundation of the fans taking control of the club.

All the optimism comes with creating a bigger following and, first and foremost, we need to look after our fans and give them the opportunity to support us.

As a country, we can look around at other leagues and see the way things are done. There are so many aspects of the game in Scotland that we can improve but every club is looking out for themselves and rightly so, to give their fans the best opportunity to watch their team.

After eight Premiership matches Hearts have picked up 11 points, half of the total that Celtic have collected.

With a trip to Ibrox coming up next weekend there is pressure mounting on Naismith to deliver the results that will ensure that the home fans are selling out Tynecastle to justify ticket reductions for away fans.

I don’t mind any club cutting an away allocation if they can fill over 70% or 80% of the seats vacated.
What I, and many fans, have an issue with is clubs being reduced to one stand at Kilmarnock or St. Johnstone with the other three stands only 40% full.
The irony is these clubs then turn round and moan about finances !!
It looks dreadful on television as well which in turn probably impacts in how much SKY is willing to pay for it.

What was it Naismith stated when he landed the time limited Hearts job … ‘ I’m not here to make friends! ‘ Too true ! Could not have come from a bigger loser .

Even the Huns think that guy is a complete TUPE…..

I have no issue with clubs cutting our (and the scum’s) allocation, they will only hurt themselves in the long run. Does this weasel not understand that, once he has been shown up for the useless klown we all know he is, and his team are struggling to stay out of the relegation zone, that the loyal Jambos with become disloyal rapidly and (even with the cut to our numbers) we’ll still end up having more fans than them in their ain midden? They think their actions will hurt us on the pitch (unlikely) but they’ll hurt themselves off it instead! Good. Screw every one of these fuds, I’ve zero sympathy.

Watch them play like a team possessed on Sunday treating the game like a semi final

Then watch them against Rangers in a semi final playing like it’s a friendly with Andy Halliday sitting on the sidelines because he’s picked up a 24 hour virus

    • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Yep – Nothing surer for sure Harold…

Celtic should remember that (with The Scumbos anyway) and when they drift away like snow off a dyke then come crawling with tickets – Just say…

We say no thanks – Ya bunch of wanks !
