Around 6pm last night the SFA announced that they had rejected an appeal against the red card shown to Jose Cifuentes during Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Dundee.
The Ibrox midfielder will be suspended for Sunday’s League Cup Final against Aberdeen, so far, more than 12 hours after the appeal decision there has been no statement out of Ibrox.
In an ideal world Cifuentes wouldn’t be anywhere near Philippe Clement’s starting XI but with Nico Raskin, Tom Lawrence and Ryan Jack out injured the Belgian has very little option but to pick the former Los Angeles midfielder.
Former Norwich starlet Kieran Dowell has only played five minutes of first team football since the home leg of the Champions League qualifier against PSV Eindhoven in August.
