Over on the Kerrydale Street message board the poster going by the name Lord Cashinthebank has carried out a priceless task for all Celtic fans with the emphasis on pain.

Ploughing through the club accounts since 1999 he has produced a Directors pay table which shows that Peter Lawwell has been directly paid £17,192,801 since joining the club as CEO in October 2003.

Starting off on a salary of £166,000 when turnover stood at £67m the former Clydeport bean-counter convinced his colleagues on the Remuneration Committee that he was worth £3,549,026 from the 2018/19 season as Celtic crashed out of the Champions League to AEK Athens and lost their manager in mid-season.

To be fair turnover had increased to £83.4m, the previous year with Champions League group stage football delivered turnover reached £101.6m.

Now of course there are two Lawwell’s draining the payroll, during the summer Mark splashed out around £20m on seven project signings that are on four and five year contracts.

With only Luis Palma earning the trust of Brendan Rodgers Lawwell Mini will have to try and move some of his projects on with Gus Lagerbielke at the top of the list.

Mark’s appointment looks assured for as long as Daddy is Chairman, it is difficult to imagine Michael Nicholson or any other CEO daring to tell Mini that he would be better served returning to his job as an administrator on the City Football Group website, far from the firing line of real football.

Apart from non-compliance with governance best practice,

whereby the recently retired, 17 years CEO returned as Chairman,

    of a plc,

there is a perception of an ongoing, potential conflict of interest,

wherby the Chairman’s son now has significant influence on the plc’s

financial income and expenditure – related to player transfers?

Yes, Peter Lawwell is noted on the CFC website as a NED, but in practice,

public communications from CFC generally come from PL, and not from

    the CEO, Nicholson.

PL does not appear to be a passive, NED Chairman, at all.

So, does PL have any input / influence on transfer decisions and strategy?

Transfers that his son is proposing to – or from – the club?

Does PL recuse himself from ANY AND ALL discussions which involve his son’s

work – and from ANY transfer related business at CFC?

Was the recruitment of the boy Lawwell done at arm’s length, in an open,

    impartial recruitment process?

Is Nicholson the CEO in name only,

or is PL the de facto, ‘shadow’ CEO?

From an audit / risk perspective, the Lawwell dad and son positions,

within a UK plc, raise rather large red flags, IMO.

Arrogance, complacency – and then hubris gets you in the end! 🙂

PONCES of the highest quality, nothing like keeping it in the family.
And we have the cheek to laugh at sevco and how their klub is run, ours is WORSE.

  • KC67 says:

£17 million and the greedy fat waster just had to come back for more.

Pity he wasn’t at the game yesterday, unfortunately for him there’s plenty more where that came from.

A treble for the huns this season, a decent run in the Europa this year and the UCL money next year.

With that sort of money the huns will bury Lawwell and his cronies.

We are now at the cross roads, a sliding doors moment. Do the right thing in January and we might get away with it.

If Desmond and Co double down (every chance of it if the Greene Brigade are anything to go by) then god knows where the club is headed…

    • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Not just Lawwell and his cronies that The Huns will bury KC67…

It’ll be us innocent ordinary Celtic supporters that’ll suffer the worst –

      I’ll always be Celtic eternally…

But Fcuk paying through a turnstile to be part of a farcical ‘sporting’ set up !

      • MartinKennea says:

Desmond is money orientated ( that’s ok , that’s his choice ) but how will he feel when Celtic loses out on £50 million to they horrible cheating fxcks?

  • Eldraco says:

Not counting his shares of cfc

  • Stevie says:

Fat bastard bleedin us dry and pulling the wool over our eyes, probably laughin as hes doing it. And will continue to so so as long as he gets away with it

  • Neil Smith says:

You know what I don’t get? And hopefully someone can explain? It’s Rogers, leaves because he is having signings trusted on him, that’s correct I understand. Then re joins with the signings being trusted on him to coach!!??? Only difference is he’s aware of it now? But he doesn’t coach them much coz he clearly does not rate what was bought? How the hell does that make sense? I simply do not BR in this and the public criticism he’s giving, not taking much himself is he. To score a CL winner midweek and no be in the squad??? What is BR up to? To only have in effect 1 goal keeper!!?? Kyogo a shadow of his former self!! I’m sure I’m missing something but I’m not getting what is with Rogers this year

  • William Melvin says:

As the old saying goes……”Shrouds have no pockets”
Let’s hope the fat, slitty eyed bastard is occupying his heated casket before too long along with the Paddy Hacker and the rest of the freeloading tories at Celtic Park.

  • Stephen says:

Who cares keep the money rolling in.
    Celtic Board “penalty Rangers”

  • Amcq14 says:

I have stated before I am on repeat when it comes to the law man a totally entity on to himself. Who are these seemingly supporters who are voting that he can turn it around. Absolutely no idear about the history of our club not talking about football on the park.

  • Redmond says:

If the Huns win the league and get the CL money PL will come out and say – see, I was right not to spend the £72m we have in the bank… The board will lap it up and round we go again… Charlatans the lot of them, Kelly/White dynasty all over again.

  • the maister says:

If he needs that kind of money to live in Glasgow, he probably doesn’t know what to do with it!
Which is probably why we have millions in the bank and garbage on the Park!!

  • the maister says:

“Guns And Sharp swords In The Hands Of Young Children”
    indeed!
Now, we have people with power and money who really seem to know not what to do with it!
