After 18 months as Head of Scouting at Ibrox John Park has left the cash strapped Tribute Act.
The 65-year-old had a successful spell in a similar role at Celtic with his move to Ibrox viewed as a great coup by the Ibrox club, managed by Giovanni van Bronckhorst at the time.
Ross Wilson was the Sporting Director that brought in Park to Ibrox in July 2022 but the success that he enjoyed at Celtic wasn’t replicated with signings under van Bronckhorst and Micky Beale widely criticised.
Rabbi Matondo, Ben Davies and Ridvan Yilmaz cost the best part of £10m last year with all three of lucrative contracts.

Seeing the writing on the wall Wilson jumped ship to Nottingham Forest with the Brains Behind Gerrard taking on responsibility for everything. Seven SPFL matches into the season he was binned with Philippe Clement taking over the disaster of a squad.
Last week 32-year-old Nils Koppen was appointed Director of Football with no role for Park under the new regime.
With no war-chest to be spent next month Park won’t be directly replaced as the Ibrox club transfer to a cheaper, data driven recruitment model.
That’s a shame.
Thought Park was doing a tremendous job.
🙂
Agent Park… Come home.
Did he manage to sort out a redundancy package for himself?
Especially with no money available to recruit anyone any longer, and for the foreseeable also?

‘And They Gave Us Tavernier, Goldson and Souttar’.
“They gave us Cantwell, Dessers, Lammers, Jack and Wright! And most of the football greats, won’t pass through iBrox gates”.
