Feyenoord won’t be short of backing at tonight’s Champions League tie against Celtic.

Thousands of Dutch fans started to march from the city centre to Celtic Park late this afternoon ahead of what is effectively a dead rubber with Feyenoord assured a place in the Europa League after Christmas with the hoops having to settle for domestic action only.

Brought up on tales of their victory in the 1970 European Cup Final a trip to Celtic Park is the holy grail for fans of the Dutch champions after visiting the San Siro.

With the Green Brigade still suspended from attending home matches it is very likely that the home support will be out sung by their visitors tonight.

After 10 years without a home win in the Champions League enthusiasm for tonight’s match is low among Celtic fans, most of whom have spent £46 per match to see their team against Atletico Madrid, Lazio and Feyenoord.
