Abdallah Sima is the latest injury concern for Philippe Clement.

Without playing in either of their two victories that have guaranteed them a place in the last 16 of the competition, Senegal have sent Sima back to Ibrox with an abductor injury picked up in training.

While Micky Beale’s permanent signings flopped badly Sima has 10 goals to his name coming in off the left wing, boosting his profile and value for his return to Brighton at the end of this season.

Things have got so desperate at Ibrox that Scott Wright came off the bench to score at Dumbarton yesterday, asked about Sima after the match Clement told the Daily Mail:

It is always dangerous to hear about those things when they happen when they are not here. I always like to hear what my medical staff think so Abda is going to come back.

I have been in contact with him already. He is going to come back as fast as possible to make a good assessment and to see how long he will be out.

With the final of the African Nations Cup being held on February 11 it looks like Sima is facing at least two or three weeks out of action with his last appearance coming on January 2 at home to Kilmarnock. Being sent home early suggests that the absence could be significantly longer by the time the Ibrox medical team assess things.

Danilo and Kieran Dowell are both out with long term injuries but Kemar Roofe is expected to post an egg-timer emoji on Instagram in the next 7/10 days.

Sima has scored 10 goals in 15 SPFL starts plus five appearances off the bench.

Please Joe don’t put articles about the currant buns on Celtic site, as personally I don’t have any interest at all in them, and couldn’t care less if Inbox burned down tomorrow. We have enough writing about the hoops HH

Editor: Thanks for your suggestion, these type of articles are very popular and will remain on this site, CQN provides great fulsome content. You can of course choose not to read upsetting content, many Celtic fans enjoy bad news from Ibrox.
