Adam Idah appears to be a medical away from joining Celtic on loan.

News broke last night of Celtic’s interest in the Norwich striker with Sydney van Hooijdonk about to go to Carrow Road on loan.

That deal would push Adah further down the pecking order with Norwich, if his medical is successfully completed the 22-year-old could join Celtic in training tomorrow and be in the squad to face Aberdeen on Saturday.

So far Nicolas Kuhn is the only January addition to the Celtic squad, signed for £3m from Rapid Vienna and making his debut off the bench against Ross County on Saturday.

With Oh Hyeon-gyu and Daizen Maeda both involved in the Asian Cup Kyogo Furuhashi has been the only first team striker available to Brendan Rodgers.

Idah came off the bench to play for 40 minutes in Norwich’s FA Cup defeat at Liverpool on Sunday which would suggest that he is match fit and ready to hit the ground running with Celtic.

Well if true it’s better than nothing at all up front – plus I like the loan idea especially if there is an option to buy…

But still gutted that it wasn’t Shankland or Miovski all the same !

  • The Timahoy says:

Miovski is the better buy. This smacks of a desperate attempt to appease the fans. I’d much rather have seen a proven quality left back. There is a requirement for someone who carries a proper aerial threat as it has been missing since GG left.

  • Michael says:

Shankland 47 goals in 18 months for Hearts.
Miovski 32 goals in 18 months for Aberdeen.
Idah 10 goals in 18 months for Norwich.
It’ll be interesting listening to Brendan at his next press conference trying to justify this signing or
It wouldn’t surprise me to see them put Kennedy in front of the cameras to spare Brendan the embarrassment of even trying.

In fairness Micheal – The Championship in England is a billion times a higher quality and more competitive league than our one which is the laughing stock of the universe for sure…

But why the fcuk not go for Miovski and especially with the figures that you’ve posted – Then shankland !

Only our manager and ‘custodians’ will know why not…

Oh and perhaps those who drafted up the five way ‘agreement’ !

Waste of tome and money, how far have we fallen.

Wow!!! a loan deal for a Norwich 3rd choice striker,oh I can’t hide my joy and excitement, fuckin pathetic for a club holding 70 million quid in the bank, what was wrong going for shankland or miovski,a few million quid that they would have paid back in goals to ensure we win the league and get CL riches and my biggest relief would be to ensure sevco don’t do that because if they get CL money they will spend it and leave us for dead.

  • Bob (original) says:

IF that is it for this window,

then we most certainly are just a loss or a draw

    away from a crisis!

When the Lawwells and the Board will be getting

    ‘serenaded’ from the stands, again!
