Five weeks after being requested not to put Willie Collum in charge of matches involving the 2012 Ibrox Tribute Act the Lanarkshire referee will take charge of Saturday’s Scottish Cup tie against Ayr United.
Ian Maxwell steered well clear of having Collum involved in any of the four SPFL matches since the Ibrox club informed the Heart & Hand podcast of their request about the Lanarkshire based official.
With the pressure off in a cup tie against lower league opponents Collum can make a return to Ibrox then be omitted from meaningful SPFL matches. With Andrew Dallas again on VAR duty at Ibrox the outcome isn’t hard to work out.
Don Robertson will referee tonight’s match against Aberdeen with Ayrshire’s Greg Aitken on VAR, next week’s rearranged SPFL match against Ross County will be refereed by Alan Muir with Gavin Duncan on VAR.
A home Scottish Cup tie on Sunday v Ayr United would be a nice match to slot Willie Collum back in, then banish him for the rest of the SPFL season, as instructed.https://t.co/jpc5CLv66S
