Brendan Rodgers has wielded the axe on the side that drew 1-1 with Aberdeen on Saturday with FOUR changes for tonight’s match away to Hibs.

Stephen Welsh replaces Maik Nawrocki in central defence with a whole new front line that sees Adam Idah and Nicolas Kuhn start their first Celtic matches.

Daizen Maeda is also in the starting XI with Kyogo Furuhashi, Luis Palma and Liel Abada named among the substitutes.

It is probably the boldest team selection since Rodgers returned to Celtic in June, the changes in attack are clearly a result of scoring just two goals, both deflected in the last two SPFL matches.

A win tonight creates clear distance at the top of the table, Nick Walsh will referee the match with Andrew Dallas on VAR.

CELTIC: Hart; Johnston, Welsh, Scales, Bernabei; McGregor, O’Riley, Bernabei; Kuhn, Idah, Maeda

SUBS: Bain, Palma, Kyogo, Abada, Holm, Nawocki, Vata, Kelly, Ralston, Abada, Kyogo, Palma

    Changes needed and very welcome.
Kyogo, is the unlucky one out of the 3 of them as it may have worked with 2 up front.
Hopefully we will have normal service resumed. Hail Hail

    What next for Mike Nawrocki?
Hung out to dry, after being left one on one with Miovski?
This is not the first time we have made that same mistake in defence recently!

If taking 3 points is the be all and end all…then we are heading for very stormy waters…No way did we deserve to win that game…Our defence is poor…being shown up by a high press…and something needs done about this…or Sevco will smash us next time we meet…Watch this space….The rest of our game totally relies on passing…and we have too many players who cant pass or control a ball.. Celtic class..??…Don’t make me laugh…I seriously don’t know where we are going…But unless BR radically changes things…Then we are not going to a good place…Rant over.

By Fcuk – That was brutal on the nerves so it was…

Delighted with the win if not the late manner as it was needed and badly bloody needed at that –

Oh and congratulations where it’s due to Mark Lawwell on finding a competent penalty taker !

  • Sid says:

Stay of execution! A back four of Ralston, Scales, Welsh and Bernabei. That squad is winning nothing. What have we allowed our club to become.

Then going with the Butland for England story a few minutes after the final whistle
