Remy McSwain has provided an update on the rumour that Mark Lawwell is quitting Celtic.
Whether it is by choice or as a result of four horrendous transfer windows is unclear but one less Lawwell at the club is bound to be good news even if any replacement is likely to be of a similar level of inadequacy.
On Tuesday night McSwain shared on the Kerrydale Street forum the rumour that Lawwell was working his notice, a few other credible members of KDS backed up the claim.
After a few Celtic fan sites carried the story the club went to work briefing their partners to play down the story but giving no assurances that Peter’s laddie would be remaining in charge of First Team Scouting and Recruitment.
No mainstream site has touched on the story but tellingly there has been no one the record denial put out to one of Lawwell’s favoured media messengers.
At yesterday’s two media conferences no questions were asked about Celtic’s summer transfer plans, since mentioning ‘the brilliant work of Mark Lawwell’ in his first media conference Rodgers hasn’t name checked the Chairman’s boy since then.
Whether Lawwell remains in place or the club is recruiting to replace their First Team Recruiter it is clear that the absence of any strategy is going to lead to a summer transfer window every bit as wasteful as 2022 and 2023.
It looks like news has slipped out with Celtic now working on the best way to present it while Peter tries to find a job for the son with a dubious CV with no evidence to back up his Linkedin claims.
If he’s to go then sooner rather than later please as he’s been utterly abject at his job…
I couldn’t care if they’re were TWENTY Sonny Lawwell’s – Cousin Lawwell’s – Brother Lawwell’s – Sister Lawwell’s – Daughter Lawwell’s – Mother Lawwell’s – Uncle Lawwell’s or Auntie Lawwell’s employed at Parkhead- IF, IF, IF they were doing their job correctly then that’d be fine for me (and most other Hoops fans as well I’d guess) –
But when they’re not it must be Out, Out, Out and in his case the sooner the better…

be expected to chant their displeasure at PM and the Board – again –
…there is to be a rousing rendition of ‘Grace’ for Palestine,
and this rumour about ML leaving starts to circulate just a few days
before the game?
And IF ML is working his notice, and if he is not replaced by the summer,
does that mean that PL reverts to his previous, unofficial, Football Director role?

jettisoning liewell jr is only treating the symptom . not the cause , the two bumps on a log gotta go , and that’s the feeling across the board
If it’s true and he dissappears, then no-one saw him coming and no-one saw him leaving.
The only proof we have that he was in the building, is the mess he left behind him!
