Was Mark Lawwell confronted by an angry corporate fan after the Kilmarnock draw?

There was anger at every level among Celtic fans following the 1-1 draw at home to Kilmarnock, the fourth time this season that the champions have failed to win at home in the SPFL.

Disillusionment isn’t confined to ‘the cheap seats’ where fans have shelled out around £600 for a Season Ticket topped up by £129 for another fruitless Champions League campaign.

Season Ticket prices went up by around 6% last summer with two matches removed from the package while the club announced that they had £72m sitting in the bank gaining minimal interest while the treble winning squad clearly needed investment in easily identified areas of weakness.

All of that background was simmering away as Mark Lawwell identified one player during January that met the approval of Brendan Rodgers before Adam Idah was announced an hour before the January transfer window closed.

As the window was closing alarm bells were sounded during the 1-0 home win over Ross County, they intensified with a 1-1 draw at Aberdeen then were eased back by a 2-1 win over Hibs with no noticeable difference between the two teams.

A 2-0 win at St Mirren in the Scottish Cup had some fans thinking that a corner had been turned but yesterday it was back to usual with laboured build up play, a complete lack of chances for forward players and a defence always liable to lose a goal.

When David Watson equalised for Kilmarnock there was no surprise- just anger aimed as the Board of Directors led by the Chairman, the manager and players.

With the Directors sat in the centre of Section C they couldn’t avoid the flack, behind them were corporate customers with Executive Boxes at the back with someone in there the target for abuse.

Social media has suggested that the target was the bald figure of Mark Lawwell but with just two images from his social media available very few fans could identify the low profile Head of First Team Recruitment and Scouting.

Celtic has never published an interview or picture of one of their most important employees.

As the fan shouted abuse the target remained static while a female steward shouted through the glass for the fan to calm down.

After stringing the support along all season, buffered by two wins in the Glasgow Derby it seems that the wheels are now off with the club delaying the announcement of interim results expected to touch £100m in the bank at 31 December.

With the Chairman and CEO taking a vow of silence other than briefing their media messengers the void is going to be filled by angry supporters online calling out the multiple failings that started with the July 2022 appointment of Mark Lawwell cemented six months later by Daddy officially being announced as Chairman with his protege Michael Nicholson saying nothing.

Who is mainly to blame for Celtic's disastrous season?

Chairman- The decline started with his appointment

either rodgers has lost the dressing room and the picture of his face yesterday suggests that , or knows he’s been betrayed by the board and knows he’s gone and has decided to bring down the lawells with him , i said earlier in the season when he benched hatate that all was not well in the dressing room , i believe hatate will be injured for the remainder of the season unless rodgers leaves before hand , the dressing room is gone and so is the league , it’s sevcos to throw away

There are so many issues affecting this Celtic team, but the one that’s foremost to me, is why when you have a team that is struggling to score goals and that lose goals late on in games do we not have better game management to see the game out and get the 3 points. For example – not having your left back bombing forward in the last 3minutes to try and get on the end of a cross from Oh, that then leaves him at the top end and opposite side of the park! The quick throw in to Oh shouldn’t have happened/ Oh should then have held it in and hit it off a defender for a corner/ Bernabei should have stayed in position to keep a good solid defensive shape.
Slow the game down, take the tempo and sting out of it . See it out ffs !!!

The VOTE above is missing DD, who is ultimately reponsible for the shambles.

    DD brought back PL.

    DD brought back BR.

DD ‘must’ have his own reasons for letting the club build that cash pile?

DD ‘must’ have his own reasons for the club not allocating more cash to .

deliver more aggressive development and growth – both on and off the pitch ?

[Still have a gut feeling he’s going to punt his CFC plc stake. Only speculation.]
