Last week at Tynecastle John Beaton set a high benchmark when he got Yang Hyun-jun sent off after 15 minutes then prompted Don Robertson to award Hearts a penalty for an innocuous ball to arm that Tomiko Iwata knew nothing about.

Afterwards Brendan Rodgers slammed the officials for deciding the match, he mentioned Beaton as being incompetent- most Celtic fans would use another word to describe the performance of the man from the Crown Bar in Bellshill.

Steven McLean is a contemporary of Beaton, they are like minded with McLean having extra brownie points because his brother was a Rangers youth team player and Northern Ireland internationalist even though he was ineligible to play for them.

Given a big cup tie at Easter Road today between two legs of a Europa League tie McLean knew the high stakes involved. Incredibly he managed to award Philippe Clement’s side a penalty then sent off two Hibs players before the second deciding goal from Fabio Silva decided the match.

There were large sections of the home stands empty, it appears that increasing numbers of supporters are opting out of funding this circus, it seems that the SNP’s former leader in Westminster agrees with that viewpoint.

After the match Nick Montgomery told Viaplay Sports:

I thought for periods of the game we were on top and should have got back into the game. In the second half with our final pass maybe a few things didn’t go our way again.

‘I’m really disappointed. I thought there was some bad decisions in there. I will have to look over them again but watching it live I don’t know how it’s not a foul on Martin Boyle leading to their penalty.

Today we got a penalty given against us. I’m not saying it is not a penalty I am saying the consistency on decisions is the frustrating thing. Young Nathan is 21-years-old and is trying to go and block a ball down the line. Again, from what I have seen there is no contact and it’s a yellow card.

I am surprised he didn’t go to the VAR monitor and take a look at it for himself. So yeah, really proud of the boys effort against a very, very good Rangers team. I thought we had them on the back foot for long periods of that game and unfortunately we didn’t punish them.

While fans and politicians voice their concerns about the way matches are being decided it seems that no club is prepared to call out the consistent inconsistencies involving certain match officials and their favourite club.

Miller said on Sportscene tonight when referencing Sevco – “WE” – Is he an employee at Liebrox? – Well not to my knowledge anyway…

I’ll tell you something – If I paid towards him sitting there tonight I’d be well pissed off…

What a rank rotten organisation it truly is…

They certainly don’t deserve that lovely professional presenter Amy…

I’ve no idea who she supports but she deserves far better than that biased incoherent rambling wreck beside her…

He also said ‘Sevco (ma words there and not his) are in the semi finals and that’s all that matters’

How the fuck do The Hibernian fans that decide to pay for that feel…

This country is truly fucked when it comes to ‘football’ well and utterly fucked…

As an ardent Supporter of independence for Scotland and SNP fan I’m glad Ian Blackford spoke out so I am !

    Blackford described himself as a
    “Crofter”.
But the man in the Daily Mail called him and told us he was in fact a millionaire!
    Some crofter!
So, his Parliamentary position is for what, exactly?
To soothe his aching ego perhaps?
He is sworn to serve the Crown!
It is such a pesky formality, ceart go loer – and now we know he is also a Hibs supporter!
