In a clear snub to the SFA, the Scottish Cup and Scottish Gas the club from Ibrox ignored the rules for Sunday’s match away to Hibs.

While seven clubs hosted media conferences with their manager and a player speaking in front of backing boards to promote the sponsors Philippe Clement’s side did things differently, their way.

Tagged on at the end of last night’s post match conference following the draw with Benfica the Ibrox boss spoke for 92 seconds about the game against Hibs with no sign of Scottish Gas or the Scottish Cup anywhere to be seen.

Full of sarcasm about Hibs, he’s a fast learner

With Lisbon three hours away a media conference could have been staged this morning with most media staying overnight or hosted by Zoom but when it comes to matters Ibrox related they are allowed to do as they please.

Recently the same treatment was handed out to the SPFL over their Cinch sponsorship deal, after Neil Doncaster renegotiated that deal forcing the other clubs to give Cinch increased publicity the car firm cut short their involvement with Doncaster on the look out for a replacement.

At the 2019 and 2023 Celtic AGM Peter Lawwell told shareholders that he had never seen or read the Five (Six) Way Agreement of 2012.

Have the Celtic board backed Brendan Rodgers since Tynecastle?

Ha Ha – Brilliant wit there Stephen and cheers for it !

But the tragic thing is – It is ONE MILLION % TRUE !!!!

That (club) lot cheated everybody / anybody in Scotland for ten years and want everybody to forget that it happened (because they got caught)!
They must have thought that they had something to gain by cheating, or else why bother?
Domination of Scottish Football perhaps, or outright control?
Seems that they are still at it!
Despots! They will persuue their objectives by any means possible.
They would love it, really love it, if everybody stood by and let them do it.
Oppose them at every turn because their core values are elitist and self-serving.
You have a duty to your football club, your nation and your neighbour do so!

SACK THE BOARD….NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.

  • MartinKennea says:

If Lawwell had’nt seen , or read , the 5 way agreement ( we all know he lies ) surely out of curiosity he would have read it . I personally think he did’nt need to read it because he was the architect of it .

Editor: He was exceptionally close to Neil Doncaster through 2012, both men with so much to lose.

  • Bob (original) says:

Is it any wonder that Scottish football is forever struggling to attract

any sponsors for the League or Cups?

Which modern, progressive, successful company would want to be

associated with the likes of Maxwell, Doncaster – or their inept organisations?
