Rodgers sends out defiant warning to the SFA

Image for Rodgers sends out defiant warning to the SFA

Brendan Rodgers has warned the SFA that he will defend himself vigorously against the Notice of Complaint that he has been served with.

Following the 2-0 defeat against Hearts last week the Celtic boss was critical of the match officials including John Beaton on VAR duty in his post-match interviews.

Celtic were reduced to 10 men after 15 minutes wen Beaton suggested a trackside review of a challenge by Yang Hyun-jun. The SFA have already rejected Celtic’s appeal against that decision.

Worst was to come before half time when a penalty was awarded against Tomoki Iwata for a handball that virtually no pundit has agreed with. The decision was also prompted by Beaton.

My observations over many games, primarily around the inconsistency of decisions. My job is to defend the team, defend the club and that’s what we will do in this case. We will defend it vigorously and when the date comes we will go from there. I will sit down with the club and the lawyers and we will look at it from there.

Have the Celtic board backed Brendan Rodgers since Tynecastle?

Yes, quietly expressing concerns to the SFA

No, the usual spineless surrender we expected

Rodgers will have his case heard on March 28, if he fails he will face at least a two match touchline ban covering matches at Livingston and Ibrox.

On Sunday Willie Collum will referee the Celtic v Livingston match with Nick Walsh on VAR.

Still silence from the ?bags on the board.

    • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

      Of course Stephen…

You’re far to polite ma friend –

But I’ll say it for you !

Still silence from The……. SHITEBAGS ON THE BOARD !!!!!

  • Tony B says:

Get the KC lined up to get into these corrupt cheating scumbags.

Whatever it takes, Celtic must pursue this and them to the bitter end.

Editor: No need for a KC is there when we have a £750,000-a-year sports lawyer as CEO…

  • Terence Nova says:

I’m told that the Board had a wee “competition” amongst themselves to find out their favourite song…
Silence is Golden was a close runner up to…The Sound of Silence.
    NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.

    • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Add Dirty Cash (Money Talks) by Stevie ‘v’ to that list Terence…

Because that’s what Daddy Lawwell, Sonny Lawwell (in the 75% of the season that he was here to wreck havoc) and Lord Fuckin Lucan-Nicholson will have given to Sevco with their incompetence or more likely beloved O#D F#RM arms race strategy that they adore so much –

      Sickening Stuff indeed…

They had better hope and prey that these non tryers in 2024 on the field of play for Celtic win this title or else !

Let the punters speak for themselves! Poll every season ticket holder in Celtic Park on next matchday.
“Do You Think Mr. Beaton Is A Fair Referee?
Do You Think He Deliberately Cheats Against Us?”
And I will guarantee you will get an overwhelming
    “No”
    and
    “Yes”!
Dare to do it Celtic and give Brendan something to fight with!

  • bertie basset says:

we are back to the days where sevcos agents do their dirty work in games outwith the derbys and not drawing attention to the viewership worldwide in these games to their blatant and obvious cheating and allowing them open to criticism and ridicule from the nuteral viewer .
i hope rodgers rips these cnuts a new ar5e hole , this boil needs lancing for years , he can change the way we are cheated in the game and give respect and dignity back to the support the club has failed the fans in this respect , how can they continue to expect us to bring our children to these games and condition them to the fact that we accept this cheating and the dice is loaded against us in this rigged in this unhealthy environment
Drive on Mr Rogers !!! we are all with you in this , off that you can be assured !!

  • The Joker says:

Good the lawyers are now involved fuckin roast these scumbags and tattoo the SFA and their bumchums to the fuckin wall.

    • the maister says:

      Nicholson is the Corporate Lawer.
But he is deaf as a post and dumb as a doorknob!

  • Sid says:

When it’s left to the manager to fight this battle its doomed to failure.
Until the board get serious Rodgers will be left on his own and vulnerable just like Lennon was and eventually admitting defeat and being reigned in.
I see zero signs this will happen so nothing positive will prevail.

  • the maister says:

SFA cannot claim that refereeing is consistent. How can one team go two years without conceding a penalty?
There are videos to show that there were penalties against them, but they just were’nt awarded!
We have seen head-high boots at Celtic Park in recent games against Celtic that went unpunished, never mind a yellow, never mind a red card.
SFA have to get a grip of their referees and stop the cheating in their ranks.
It has always been there, but never to this extent.
It is going to cost Celtic the League and Cup because last Sunday was as blatant cheating as has ever been seen by one individual who changed the course of the game from the fifteenth minute.
There is nothing to stop that happening over and over again.
SFA have to get a grip because if they won’t admit it is there, then they are also culpable.
Celtic need to make a case against it.
If they don’t back the manager – because we all can see it, then what is the point of the Board?
