Liel Abada is expected to complete his transfer to Charlotte FC in the next 24 hours according to Mark Hendry.
The Football Scotland reporter has become a reliable source of Celtic transfer news since he broke the news of interest in Alexandro Bernabei in June 2022. Ironically the defender is expected to move on loan to Brazil at some stage today.
Despite signing a contract extension in September it has looked inevitable for some time that Abada will be moving on from Celtic, since appearing as a substitute away to Hibs on February 7 he has been left out of the matchday squad to clear his mind.
? Liel Abada has passed his Charlotte FC medical and is expected to complete his move, officially, from Celtic within 24 hours.
It’s a 4-year contract and he joins MLS club as a young designated player.

With the European transfer windows close a move to the MLS has seemed like the logical step for the winger who hopes to be involved in Israel’s European Championship play-off against Iceland on March 21.
A fee of around £10m seems to represent good value for Celtic given the circumstances of the transfer even though Petah Tikva will be due a chunk of that fee as part of the original deal to sell Abada in July 2021.

I don’t watch the news anymore Kevin (almost four years and I’m a helluva lot the better for that decision for sure) and therefore save to say that I don’t know enough of the Palestine and Israel situation to comment on it in anyway whatsoever…
