Last gasp Tavpen- the records keep on rolling

He might be feeling a little under appreciated this week but no one can argue with the remarkable stats accumulated by James Tavernier.

Recently declared the World’s Greatest Ever Defender by the Daily Record the former Wigan ace would be in line for the SPFL Golden Boot if it wasn’t for the goals of Lawrence Shankland.

From 12 yards out Tavpen is in a league of his own even though goalkeepers have more data and analysis on him than any other player in the game.

The stats are there for all to see but it takes Lint on Twitter to venture into the areas that the mainstream won’t go near.

As shown above the longer a match goes the more like one of Crawford Allan’s referees are to point to the penalty spot.

Strangely Don Robertson failed to point to the penalty spot against Dundee in midweek but that was the exception rather than the rule.

Another trend is that the penalties are awarded when most needed, against Hibs, Motherwell, Celtic and Dundee the penalty award has been when his side are trailing or on level terms.

With Steven McLean and Hugh Dallas on duty at Hampden tomorrow Craig Gordon knows exactly what to expect with 88 minutes a popular choice for Tavpen Bingo.

I’m going to go against the grain here as Sevco are struggling that much just now they’ll need the Tavpen earlier than usual (£10 @ 15min – 20min)

This puts many fans off the spl. Supporting a team in a rigged league that not much resistance is given to by its member clubs, is really frustrating. Celtic need a Fergus to stand upto this, unfortunately we have a poodle in lawwell.

  • Bobby Russell says:

Just checked back and the past 25 items are about Sevco. This is supposed to be a Celtic site. Accusstions from them about being obsessed could be justified.

Editor: This is a commercial site. I like the content and so do thousands of others, if it upsets you there is some great content on the Daily Record and BBC Scotland websites.

PS Your stats aren’t accurate, enjoy your weekend

obsession is a deflection used by the sevconites , it really does upset and perturb them when we bring to the surface the problems they have and have open discussion about them , and after all don’t we have the media doing the same to Celtic in their favor ? as long as it’s not a crime obsessssssssssssssssssssss away !!! lol

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

In life one ABSOLUTELY NEEDS to be watching their enemies – Especially when you are of good stock and don’t deserve to have the said enemies…

If we don’t watch them they will dance all over us with their beloved military jackboots on our throats…

Simply put – We haven’t been ‘paranoid’ enough…

We weren’t streetwise enough either –

Which is something Bobby Russell needs to become I’d suggest !

  • whiteseatbhoy says:

Robertson couldn’t give them a penalty on Wednesday because they couldn’t get into the penalty box.
