James Forrest makes a rare starting appearance today as Celtic take on Dundee in their first post-split fixture this afternoon at Dens Park.

Yang Hyun-jun drops out after starting the last two matches with Brendan Rodgers turning to the player that he has described as the best winger at the club.

Forrest has been very influential coming off the bench in the last couple of matches, scoring at Hampden last Saturday and now has the chance to make an impact from the kick-off.

Despite losing three goals last week at Hampden Rodgers sticks with the same defence with Callum McGregor starting in midfield in the preferred partnership alongside Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley.

Celtic won 3-0 at Dens Park in December but neither of the scorers, Paolo Bernardo are in the Starting XI.

For the sixth time this season John Beaton will referee a Celtic match, for back up he has Andrew Dallas on VAR duty. David Roome and Dougie Potter are the assistant referees.

CELTIC: Hart; Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Taylor; McGregor, Hatate, O’Riley; Kuhn, Kyogo, Forrest

SUBS: Bain, Idah, Yang, Kelly, Palma, Iwata, Ralston, Nawrocki, Bernardo

It’s well known in my house that James Forrest isn’t my favourite player.
He’s too inconsistent…despite his obvious talents…so let’s hope he proves me wrong today.
And I’m not convinced about Calmac either….but also prove me wrong Captain.
I just watched Sevco scrape through against St.Mirren…who, on the balance of play, deserved a point…But the jammy bastarts done it again.
    Mon the Hoops.

TN have been saying this for ages. When McGregor was out injured the 3 midfielders all scored in one match as if suddenly they realised their roll was to create and take chances as opposed to holding on to the ball for the sake of it.
I am not sure Brenden would dare drop him, though.

Great 3 points…poor performance…We need to get our act together…Trying to play a system that doesn’t handle pressure play… As for Jamesie…2 goals gets him off the hook…but he and Khun never troubled their full backs after the first 15 minutes.. In fact Khun was woeful.. Overall 3 golden points from a poor display.
