After 10 days of ridicule Kenny Miller probably thought that he could bank on John Brown bailing him out.
Miller managed to deflect some attention away from the stupidity of John Lundstram by his uber-staunch take on the horror tackle on Alistair Johnston that saw the Scary Scouser sent off just before half time in the last Glasgow Derby.
Brown liked nothing better than laying a marker on his opponent during his career at Dundee and Ibrox but he also knew where to draw the line.
Since his Sky Sports meltdown Miller has become more of a laughing stock, that tends to happen when even Kris Boyd refused to offer any defence of Lundstram.
After a two match suspension the out of contract midfielder is available to face Celtic on Saturday but Phil Clement has some thinking to do before he selects his side for Hampden.
Brown watched Lundstram’s stupidity contribute to his side’s defeat at Celtic Park, speaking to the Daily Record he admitted:
The recent one with Lundstram the fact he’s scored an own goal, his head is away with it. A guy with his experience. He lunges and, when you lunge like that, you are taking chances. It was a definite red. Had they got to half-time, with it being 2-1, it could have been a different story.
Miller is expected to be part of the BBC Scotland team at Hampden on Saturday alongside Steven Thompson, Neil McCann, Billy Dodds and Stuart McCall.

Has Brown found the Deeds yet…??…What a walloper this guy is…In fact …He’s a FUD.
Ah Bible John thr alkie a thought he was deed,oh just where are those deeds .
I heard they pawned them and forgot to renew the ticket.
I see the Herald has described to its mill…sorry , scores of readers ,that John Brown is a theRangers ‘great ?’ Unfortunately the kharsi roll does not give true context to the interjection ‘great ? ‘ Could it be ‘ great nut job ?’ Could it be ‘ great growler ?’ Or could it be ‘ great loser ?’ I suppose one of those few lucky readers of the rag shall figure it all out themselves ?
